Prof Jega speaking on AIT, ''I am sorry Nigerians, there was sabotage in Anambra State election, that was why there were so many irregularities. We have arrested our staffs used for that sabotage and they are now in police net. Nigerians should bear with us.''

Apology accepted

He should cancel the election - you can't announce a party as the winner of a flawed election and then say sorry to the other parties and their teaming supporters especially when you admitted that the election was sabotaged.

Some people were used to sabotage the election. Good, who used them and to achieve what? Undeserved victory?

The entire process has been serious tainted and the election should therefore be annulled for people to still have faith in Jega

NEC, PDP Plotting To Rig Anambra Governorship Poll .APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has expressed a serious doubt in the ability of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to organise a free and fair governorship election in Anambra on 16 November, going by recent developments.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the top officials whom INEC plans to send to oversee the election are card-carrying members of the PDP, which has compromised their role as unbiased umpires.

It named the Commissioners as Mr. Lawrence Nwuruku, the National Commissioner of INEC in charge of the South-East, and Mrs. Gladys Nwafor, the second INEC Commissioner from the South-East.

“Mr. Nwuruku was the Chairman of the PDP in Ebonyi State, while Mrs. Nwafor had worked closely with First Lady Patience Jonathan as a grassroots mobilizer. These officials cannot, in all honesty, be expected to be unbiased, because they have been compromised by their antecedents.

“If INEC indeed has any hope of organizing a free, fair and transparent election in Anambra on 16 November, it must immediately shelve the plan to send these highly-partisan and heavily-compromised officials to supervise the election. Any action short of that will open INEC to accusations of bias – which is not what any umpire wants,’’ APC said.

The party also said some actions taken by INEC in recent times have called to question its ability to stay above the fray as far as the Anambra election is concerned.
“For example, the voters’ register for Anambra in 2011 had 2.1 million names, which came down to 1.8 million after a review. However, despite continuous registration by INEC, the names came down to 1.7 million! This kind of chicanery is only possible under a circumstance in which deliberate efforts are being made to depopulate the voters in areas where the opposition has an edge..

“We are therefore left with no choice than to call on the National Assembly to seek explanations from INEC on the hanky- panky. This is necessary to ensure that the election is not rigged by the same body saddled with ensuring that it is transparently-organized,’’ it said..

APC said it is closely monitoring all the processes leading to the election, since the success of any poll is not limited to actions taken on the election day alone, with a view to ensuring that no candidate is short-changed by the very body that has the responsibility to ensure a level-playing field for all.

Talk about medicine after death.

Obviously, we saw this coming and he was warned, but he looked the other way.

So what next after the apology? Cancel the election or go ahead and announce the fraudulent winner?

''Coming after the charade in Delta, this is a serious development that raises questions about the ability of INEC to conduct a free, fair and transparent elections anywhere in Nigeria. It is particularly serious because if people who registered to vote are not able to do so, and even the votes of those who managed to cast them do not count, then anarchy is looming,'' the party said.

It called for a probe of INEC to determine why it has taken it upon itself to sabotage its own elections, even when people are determined to endure the orchestrated inconveniences and shun all acts of violence, as was witnessed in Anambra on Saturday when people waited patiently and peacefully, only to go home in total disappointment.

''This is a new low for INEC, and unless something is done urgently, the electoral commission may plunge Nigeria into a crisis from which it may not recover,'' APC warned.

If Jega, which the full resources of INEC cannot conduct a free and fair election in one state with 21 local government, how is he going to conduct a free and fair governorship elections in over 25 states and national and state assemblies throughout the federation come 2015
