The leadership of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) has
commended the people of Anambra
state for the peaceful and orderly
conduct of last Saturday’s
governorship election.
The party also commended President
Goodluck Jonathan for providing
adequate security and the enabling
environment for credible, free and fair
election in the state in spite of any
perceived hitch(es).
PDP National Publicity Secretary,
Chief Olisa Metuh in a statement on
Sunday said the party is satisfied that
despite the massive importation of
thugs and plots by the All
progressives Congress (APC) to
introduce violence to disrupt and rig
the election, the process was
conducted peacefully.
“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
hereby commends President
Goodluck Jonathan for providing
adequate security and the enabling
environment for the conduct of
credible, free and fair governorship
election in
Anambra state last Saturday in spite
of any perceived hitch(es)
“In the same vein we commend the
entire people of Anambra state and
all stakeholders who played key roles
in ensuring peaceful and orderly
conduct of the process.
“While we now await the official
result, we wish to express our
satisfaction that the election was
conducted without disturbances,
despite the massive importation of
political thugs by the All progressives
Congress (APC) as well as their
heinous plots to introduce violence to
disrupt and rig the poll having
discovered that they have
been rejected by the people.
“We also commend the candidate of
our great party, Comrade Tony
Nwoye for his resilience, grass root
appeal and credible outing which
brought him to the forefront in the
race despite having only two weeks
to campaign. This is evident in the
results so far released in which he
roundly defeated the candidate of the
APC who has been campaigning for
four months before our candidate.
The PDP is indeed happy with
Comrade Tony Nwoye’s performance
so far.
“While we charge all our members to
continue to remain calm and focused,
we wish to state that our final
position on the election will be made
known when the overall result is
declared by INEC.

Nwoye is thinking otherwise, he has joined forces with Ngige and Obiano to reject the results. I don't know if Nwoye didn't knew he was used by PDP to destablized APC.

Only political neophytes will now know that APGA is PDP in another skin
To expect the PDP to say otherwise would have been an interesting political development esp as Obi is one of Ebele's boy boy
But if this a foretaste of what to come in the 2015 elections,the CIA's prediction about Nigeria splitting will be so on point

I wonder how they can make a statement commending the polls when their own candidate's name was missing from the register and therefore wasn't able to vote. PDP is so pathetic!

PDP were never interested in the Anambra election in the first place. They only wanted APC not to win . So congratulating APGA and Nwoye criticising INEC is another episode that will go on for a while.

The party's flagbearer in the election was disenfranchised, yet the PDP is satisfied with the conduct of the election. After spending tens of billions of Naira on data capturing machines, on voters registration exercise, voting materials, logistics and recruitment of staff, INEC still demonstrated unpardonable ineptitude and either by errors of omission or commission disenfranchised a vast number of registered voters who were willing to exercise their franchise. Who are those tampering with the voters register? This should be a source of worry for all Nigerians and most especially the ruling party. We cannot be spending from our lean resources and not get good value or worth for the monies spent!

i am member of PDP and non of our executives made this statement.
this is the hand work of APGA.
they also sent text messages saying sorts of lies that PDP accepted the outcome of the Election.
all these are lies and i wonder why vanguard will not verify their source before airing it out.
