Lying is a one sin the bible hammered over and over again but is it every lie that is sinful? Assuming there is an ethnic war between OPC and Arewa boys and your hausa maiguard runs into your kitchen to hide from OPC boys that will definitely kill him and when the OPC boys asked you about his whereabouts, you lied to save his life. Is that a sin? Will you rather be a good christian, say the truth and give him up to his assailants? OR You lied to a man lying critically ill about his dead pregnant wife just to help his psyche during his illness; Will God penalize such lies? |

Book of Revelation 21:8 Says, "But the cowardly, unbeliving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." Did you read the scenario above? Are you saying that you'll definitely give up that man because as a child of God, you don't want to violate Rev 21:8? |
