Okija_juju: Yet Petroleum Industry Bill has not been talked about.. grin

Now Nigerians would be busy debating this matter as if it matters.. grin Only 1 Nigerians out of 160 million People can ever be president. That bill affects only one.. The PIB that affects hundreds of Thousands of Nigerians has been in the house of over 8 - 10 years, been watered down so much now that it has lost over 70% of its original content and still they cant pass the bill.

Meanwhile a bill like anti-gay rights which really does not affect the price of Garri or anyother thing was passed in under 2 weeks (from first hearing to public forum to passing the bill). grin
& dat 1 person out of 160m who becomes president doesn't affect lives abi?

The senator made some very good valid points but we dont need this present set of President and Governors. They should all leave at the expiration of their tenures (2015) and a care taker govt should midwife the process.

classicEntity: A single tenure of 6 or 7 years is good idea for Nigeria, it will calm the current ethnic tensions and awareness and also reduce post election violence and INEC expenses.
Yeah, is a good idea, but i reject it with everything in me.
We would never allwod the tenure of the South-South to be shorten by two Years.
GEJ must finish his first term of four Years and start the second term of another Years by 2015. Anything short of that will be resisted and will never be accepted.

Truth is, no nigerian president will lose a second term bid in this present setting and as such,Ekweremmadu's suggestion ,though in line with president Jonathan earlier position ,remains the best way to deal with wastages ,tension and violence associated with presidential election in nigeria.i am in full support of single term and its only in one term regime that opposition can win for presidency.

Leave them first. Those hawks who undermine very good but with exception to state police, ideas that will bring about peace etc. Some people think killing, destruction etc is their personal specialised field, at such, whatever genuine proposal one advances will be resisted. Whatever way these evil hawks think is good for them alone will be met with the highest degree of resistance too.
The Buharis' ruled for many years, every ethnic groups, for the love of peace, cooperated but now they are saying heavens must fall. let us see how it will go. jona till 2019 or fire, this time, will be for fire.

Whatever happen Jonathan must go back home 2015 infact his presence will not be tolerated in Abuja one week after this misplaced tenure .
I understand Ekweremadu don't drink much like principal he probably smoke weed occasionally he should go bury that idea of his in his village burial ground its unacceptable ,he could go ask Obasanjo about his own madness called third term . For his info. 2015 election is non negotiable its a must and am beginning to see Jonathan in kirikiri prison uniform in dreams he will things being equal get nothing less than 7 years ( with hard labour ? )
Those with ears let them hear !

Single tenure of 6 years is a good start towards a better Nigeria for so many reasons. For example, there won't be ay destraction and stockpiling of money ahead of re-election.

However at this point in time, Nigeria needs peace and if what will bring that peace is 2 extra years for the serving executives, let us all sacrifice it.

chai, chai, chei.... I look at how companies perform their business transaction here, i feel very very bad, i am pointing in direction of all, yes all of them.. particularly this network providers....MTN to be specific.. these guys are the most enervating and enraging network providers.

they do every thing possible to suck your money, with two or more straws, they form all kinds of rubish promo all in the name of marketing.

the most recent is that they have sought and found that the rate at which people delete their text messages is high, so they now coded their server to "subscribe" when ever you perform the delete action. i mean that process you can close your eye and do is no longer delete but it will display "a save option" which in other way means subscribe.

i am very very unhappy, in fact i am making a research on how to move away from this money guzzling company.

CROOKS!!!

i dnt tink most of u are getin it ryt, u are only attackin d single term agenda of wich it does not concern only d president, most of ur governors are there 2.Most people kip on capitalising on Gej dat he is using his 2nd term, the question is: did gej hijack d Presidency 4rm Yar'adua? hell NO, d constitution stated it clearly, even without constitution common sense: when a leader dies or he's in capable, d deputy should takeover. He has not finished is first term and many of u are breathing down his neck. Back 2 ekweremadu, i support his motion most xpecially his multipolicing bt none of u are talkin about dat 1. We knw most of our politicians are alwz targetin 2nd term with d #do or die#, if a single tenure can solve it, 5n by me. NB: gej will only use 8yrs in total whyl most of our 'ole' state govs will use 10yrs in total, in military reign they call it marshall. Again, why all dis attackin on gej?.
Mind u, i dnt like most of our politician, but 4 God sake dis is a gud move, aren't u tired of post violence election. Stop comparing us wif americans and co.,they all started 4rm sumwhere n dis ekweremadu's initiative is a gud 1.

In 2011 GEJ permitted a free and fair election and by allowing the then ACN win more state raised more enemies for himself and his party,so now he can't afford to play safe anymore(That's why Anambra went the way it did).
There will be no place in the history of Nigeria if GEJ doesn't win a second term,so instead of rigging and risking the lives of the people in the Violence that would ensue(that could lead to a break up),he's sharing the spoils for everyone, they all rule till 2017 then they all leave.
Atleast d G7 guyz can go an face their poverty raved states,4get about 2015 and leave us in peace.

skyluv2000: I think senator Ekweremmadu has a nice point there, its better,GEJ stay for one term and leave the office.for some of you slowpokes especially westerners here, didnt ur brother wanted third term, so what crime had GEJ committed in trying to utilize his franchisement to the fullest.
What are you on about? Your posturing and arguement don't hold water. Pray tell, which region championed mostly the opposition to OBJ 3rd term agenda? To help you out, it's the west. Yes, his own people! So you see your folly. It's good to see things as they are, not as who you are. Only then will ethnic sentiment cease to be a clog in the wheel of Nigeria's progress.

I thought you guys said that he is popular with the masses. If he is why would him winning a free election cause violence among the same masses? Some of you including Ekwerenmadu and Jonathan really think that we were born yesterday.
Why not the doctrine of everyone to his tent? Then if he like he can rule Ijaw republic for a thousand years and his opponents too.
