Fresh graduates of the University of Nigeria Teaching
Hospital, UNTH, are gearing up for a show down with
the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
The induction of the graduates was to take place
today, Friday, morning but the Dean, Prof. B.C
Ezeanolue shut the door against 120 of the 136
graduates.
The Dean has already inducted less than 20
graduates, including his two daughters.
The fresh medical graduates are threatening action
against the authorities.
A source told DailyPost in Enugu that but for the intervention of the UNN, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bartho Okolo, the Dean had earlier collected N70, 000 from each of the medical graduates, a fee he claimed was for professional license.However, it was
gathered that the VC got infuriated over the outrageous amount and demanded that the students be refunded. According to the source, “when the money was
refunded, we used N35,000 to obtain the same professional license. You can’t imagine that the Dean wanted to defraud each student N35,000. “So, he has been very angry over the VC’s refusal for him to milk
the students dry and I
think he waited to deal with them today”. As at the time of filling this report, the angry
medical graduates, who said the Dean had punished them a lot, called on the VC to come to their aid. “The VC has always been there for us; we need him now more
than ever”, one of the graduates said, adding “he is now going to leave this place until he gives us our license”.

@ OP. What do u stand to gain by peddling lies. Only 18 doctors were inducted cos others showed up late for their induction. Those present in d hall were asked to write down dia names on a list nd the swearing in commenced. The team from medical and dental council of nigeria had another event at absu uturu. Moreover, most consultants' children were also involved. The team said dy wud come back at 3pm to swear in d remaining. However I dnt k if dy came back. But indiscipline was d reason others were not sworn in

U wia not dia. Nd am giving u first hand information. Go thru OP's post. Wat wud u say is d reason he gave for not swearing in over 100 doctors? Non. The DVC's child was even affected and it was d same DVC who ordered the ceremony be commenced that dy will not tolerate indiscipline from doctors. Some of dem were outside exchanging plesantries nd snapping pictures while d list was being written inside
