In the beginning: Obasanjo’s psychology

(nets-sng) We are not too sure of the English word that describes a man who takes delight in seeing to the downfall of his own closest relations and friends, who would lure and endear people to himself, use them thoroughly to his personal satisfaction and then sting mercilessly and consume them when they appear most vulnerable. That man is former President Olusegun Obasanjo (a.k.a. OBJ) who has become infamous with this negative tendency associated with vindictiveness, callousness or what, in the common language, is generally called wickedness.

Indeed, OBJ takes delight in displaying each/and or a combination of these negatives of human conduct. He simply derives pleasure from inflicting pains on people close to him. The list of his victims is long, if not endless: Bola Ige, Sunday Afolabi, Chuba Okadigbo, Fred Brume, Sunday Awoniyi, Abubakar Rimi, Atiku Abubakar, Johnson Fasawe, Mike Adenuga, Peter Odili, Ghali Na’Abba, Ken Nnamani, Tony Anenih, Bode George, Orji Uzor Kalu, Audu Ogbe, Theophilus Danjuma, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, Okwesilieze Nwodo, Wada Nas, Joshua Deriye, Vincent Ogbulafor, Chris Ngige, Bala Usman, Solomon Lar, Barnabas Gemade, Olusegun Mimiko, even his new found friend, Rotimi Amaechi, whose governorship ticket, according to Obasanjo, had K-leg in 2007, Gbenga Obasanjo (his own son) and many more.

While some of them successfully resisted OBJ, others succumbed to his evil machinations. For the years he was in power, he sought the destruction of those who once enjoyed intimate relationship with him. His style is to apply the same state power and privileges in destroying those who are no longer useful to him, and in attracting new recruits to go through the same process. When, in 2007, he chose to install Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as President and Vice-President respectively, the plot was easy to identify. OBJ’s third-term bid has just collapsed, but he thought he could still achieve the same purpose by installing the due to serve as his puppets. As soon as the late President Yar’Adua started to show that he was not prepared to be a stooge or do anybody’s bidding, OBJ turned against him.

When by an act of fate, President Yar’Adua died and Dr. Jonathan had to contest for the Presidency in 2011, OBJ, once again rekindled his delusion of installing a stooge and running Nigeria from his Ota farm. Now, he has found out that President Jonathan is not prepared to be manipulated and that he is a man of his own who would insist on doing things his own way. Naturally, OBJ’s psyche has, again, been bruised and he is determined to pull down the Jonathan administration. It is needless to say that under such circumstances, the man becomes unforgiving and highly vindictive. That is why OBJ’s first outburst against the Jonathan administration in November 2012 did not come as a surprise to many Nigerians. What an embarrassment!

OBJ is a mecurial man,a feature that's quite synonymous wit most politicians.
But even at that OBJ reckons as one of the most active president, nigeria has ever had,from whichever perspective u tend to view it,the man has his flaws...but one thing is for certain, only God can judge OBJ
