In Yobe recently, there was an 100% victory in the LGA election and no one is screaming. Simply because It was a progressive victory, in a progressive election, favouring a progressive party, in a progressive state. cheesy cheesy

They didn't abuse JEGA for such a progressive result because it favoured a progressive party. But they are the same people screaming that they don't have confidence in JEGA and INEC.

dlox147: 35 states can't afford to pay salaries without the federal govt, so what has the progressive states been able to achieve when they cannot even pay salaries of workers..if they where all private companies they would have gone under grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin..yet they criticize the fed govt

Such a silly argument. If none of Nigeria's states are making money then where does the federal government get its money? All of the land in this country belongs to the states so the states should own everything but the federal government has confiscated any high yield property in the county, taking the money that should belong to the states and then giving the states pocket change and claiming to be their saviors. Don't make this kind of silly post with a one sided points of view again.

Let us talk about private companies as you put it. In a private company the president of the company is the end all be all of authority but in our states as Amaechi has shown, the federal government interferes and compromises the governors authority. In a private company, when gold is found on one of the companies lands it is theirs to do with as they see fit but in Nigeria the federal government claims that one for theirs. What kind of business is expected to prosper if they have an overlord claiming all their goldmines for its own?

To drive this point home, we have a ministry for petroleum resources but not one for each of the other natural resources in this country, why? None of this petroleum resources are in the capital so why is it the federal governments business, all the other tens of natural resources that we have, why doesn't the federal government care about them as much?

The federal government is the beginning and the end of all Nigeria's ills.

jmaine: "There is an intentional political blockage of the media towards the FG, a reason why the information ministry has decided to use medium such as the good government tours, monthly media briefing like what is happening now and other measures to push information."

That is the main problem. Our media is so ooo mischievous. There is a lot of developmental projects going on across Nigeria but our biased PUNCH, The Nation etc will concentrate on only the negative side for political reasons. Somehow, I am happy Nigerians are gradually knowing the truth.

Has anyone also noticed the favourable news coverage PUNCH and others are now giving to Ameachi, Wamakko, Kwakwanso and Nyako these days? No day passes without a favourable story about one of them in PUNCH. Whoever doubts me can check their website now.
