I never project a TP. Price lets me know what it wants to give me and i take it without complaints. I risk only 5% of my account as exposure. I always project my SL though. SL projection is more important that TP projection. The name of the game is survival. Survive and you will grow. The only way to Survive is to to risk a small percentage per trade and having patience.

Can someone pls explain the risks of using 'trailing stops' and why i rearly hear traders mention it.

Check out the video. I think he's using the same system i use. fast forward to 4:46, and you will notice he lost almost 10 trades in a row for a total of $4500. But in trades 436 and 437 he bounced back with 350 pips and 150 respectively. With two trades, he made up for ten losses. Think about that.
