The term was coined by economist Jim O'Neill, who has now identified the "Mint" countries - Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey - as emerging economic giants. Here he explains why.
So what is it about the so-called Mint countries that makes them so special? Why these four countries?

His indices are just correct, only that we need visionary leaders at all levels to make materialize.

The visionary leader is already here. He is the one at the helm of affairs right now that is why Nigeria made the list. The various economic and industrial drives of Jonathan's administration will take us out of the woods if he is given the time to nurture them. So, support Jonathan for the progress and development of Nigeria.

Much of economic growth is driven by demographics, same applies to Nigeria's. So when NOI boasts of strong growth, it's growth despite of the Govt not because of this Govt. So, yes, Nigeria can become an economic giant despite our inept leaders.

any country with over 100million people will be in some sort of bric, mint, pink group

The economy has been growing at 5-6% since forevere, even with Yaradua on his sick bed, it will grow at that rate!

still waiting for this rebasing issue, seems they are timing it to coincide with the election period

u are brainless, as much as clueless like ur acclaimed visionary leader that even his ineffcient cabinet members can't induce the public with the massive growing economy!

A budget, carefully planned and drawn by the clueless president and his fellow empty headies already allocates more than 70% as cost tp run the govt while other sectors will av to nib at the remaining 30%.
Did u knw infrastructures and projects have less than 15%?

And u are there agitating for the same janadaft!

How do i blame u?
i dnt expect u to reason beyond ur capacity undecided

All these indices are good and makes you feel proud. The world is really watching. I attended a World Leaders Summit last year organised by London Business School in London and one of the facilitators was really talking about Nigeria being an African frontier for economic development and that they are closely following the economic trends in Nigeria.

What we need to do is get our politics right and put in the right leaders who can achieve these indices.
