•Oshiomhole, Okorocha, Amaechi on the card •Tambuwal, el-Rufai on standby for presidential ticket By RAZAQ BAMIDELE Ahead of 2015 general elections and not leaving any chances, the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) is shopping for the party’s vice presidential candidate right away. This is even, as it was assumed that former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, may get the presidential slot. In case this option fails, incumbent Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, former Federal Capital Territory (FCT), minister, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai and Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido are on the card as replacement. But Governor Lamido has always said that as a founding father of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he won’t leave the party. It was, however, learnt that the stakeholders who met behind the closed-door last weekend, have no mandate of the party or of any of the candidates being considered for the vice presidential slot, which was the highpoint of the parley. The stakeholders at the meeting in Ogun State, having been convinced that the presidential flagbearer will surely come from the North, are now searching for a vice-presidential candidate from the South in preparation for the race. During the meeting, which was chaired by a chieftain from Ondo State, some names were tabled for scrutiny with a view to agreeing on who to present when the chips are down for nomination, which is believed, could come as early as June this year. Some of the names on the card, according to Daily Sun checks, are former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Edo State Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, his Rivers and Imo state counterparts, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and Rochas Okorocha respectively as well as former governor of Ekiti State, Otunba Richard, Adeniyi Adebayo. A source at the meeting, who doesn’t want to be named, said, “if former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari eventually becomes the party’s presidential candidate, Tinubu will automatically pair with him because of their experiences and exposure as former rulers. “If any of the former Federal Capital Territory (FCT), minister, Mallam el- Rufai, incumbent Speaker, Hon. Tambuwal or Governor Lamido eventually picks the party’s ticket, any one among Fashola, Oshiomhole, Amaechi, Okorocha and Adebayo can be nominated for the vice presidential slot.” Daily Sun, however, gathered that the issue of religion came up during deliberation which the conveners felt could have influence in the choice of the presidential running mate. Though, it was learnt that some of those in attendance felt that with the current political awareness of Nigerians, a Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian ticket can be possible, another group is opposed to the arrangement, saying that any concept that did not take cognizance of the importance of religion in any political arrangement, would fail. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/cover/2015-apc-shops-buharis-deputy/ |

JECBOSS: If Buhari is APC's candidate, then It'll be a Smooth and Landslide victory for GEJ in 2015. Ride On, Mr President!Sorry ehn. All your propaganda against Buhari has failed. You were all trying to hoodwink the APC into thinking that Buhari was unelectable. The decision makers know that Buhari, who got 12 million votes and won the entire north in 2011 is not unelectable. Add the ten million south west votes to buhari's ten million and it will be a landslide victory in 2015. You can dash yourselves 100% in the SS and SE. It will be inconsequential. 3 Likes |

JECBOSS: If Buhari is APC's candidate, then It'll be a Smooth and Landslide victory for GEJ in 2015. Ride On, Mr President!Do you know what is called "Southern Agenda"? If YES, that's what they did in the last Election! How many did GEJ lose in the South during the last election?? Only one state, which is Osun! So if we decide not to do Southern agenda this time, what do you think would happen? GEJ is going to lose the south western states, and share the votes of Anambrans, Edolites, Rivers, and Imos. If you also think GEJ would win Jigawa, Niger and Kaduna states which belong to PDP in the forth-coming election, you're joking. So I'm not contemplating the votes from the core northern states which belong to APC. |

Here, read this "FORMER military head of state and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd.), has said that the party will win the 2015 presidential election and that it is a forgone conclusion. He also described the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan as lawless, calling on Nigerians to join the APC in its campaign to recover the country. “APC is about securing Nigeria and managing it efficiently, how are we going to do it? The way we are going to do it is why we got the opposition parties with representation in the states and the National Assembly. With that we believe that the question of winning the election in 2015 is a foregone conclusion. We are particularly grateful and impressed by your governor for his single- mindedness and his capacity to identify what is good for his people and for the country, we thank him very much. “A lot of you here were not born when our leaders thought that the fundamental thing is one Nigeria, in spite of our differences; ethnic and religious, we’ve found ourselves as one people. Our country, with tremendous resources and talented people, but we the people have managed or mismanaged to organise ourselves so that we can use them wisely for this country. “APC, as I said, is about securing and efficiently managing Nigeria, I want you to believe and participate fully because this effort we are making is for you because no matter how much we love this world or the office, we have only five and ten years to go, you better realise it and accept it and work for a strong Nigeria". Sincere 9gerian: Nonsense! The koko is what does APC intend to do DIFFERENTLY? Nigerians are less interested in the gang up of very angry ethnic and religious bigots. |

donphilopus: Do you know what is called "Southern Agenda"? If YES, that's what they did in the last Election! Very poor analysis GEJ will lose the NE/NW even if the governors there are 100% PDP and win in the SS/SE even if the governors there are 100% APC.Tribalism and religion are the key motiovating factors in presidential elections.GEJ will also win the MB states of Taraba, plateau, nassarawa, kogi, benue ,southern kadunna and christian parts of Niger, adamawa,Bauchi in addition to getting a subatantial no of votes in lagos. Mind you the winner of the presidential elections is determined by the candiadate with the largest no of valid votes cast and not the candidate who won most states provided the candiadate meets 25% votes in 24 states +the fact,he will be declared winner with majority votes even if he won in fewer states |
