Oh Amadioha ! The great god of Thunder ! by HerexG(m): 5:36pm On Jan 08, 2014
It was a sweet feel of nature with the green colours of large shrubs, trees grazing the almost the entire land. With fresh water coming from the stream not far from the giant rock of Okosisi, and the colourful birds with soothing beauty having their feast on the blue sky . The tribe of Ozurumba is a paradise here on earth, the dormicde of nature. The Ozurumba kingdom is located in south east of a country right beneath the equator in west Africa.
Though the kingdom appeared to be a paradise on earth, a strong prevailing evil powers attacked the land and made it become a shadow of itself. With every single hour, minutes and seconds, you see evil soldiers hovering the sky looking for the next victim to devour hahahahahahahah .

Now who will rescue them, who will be their messiah ? Will it be you. i mean you reading the story now ?

It all began a long time ago during the new yam harvesting season, the village of Ozurumba has the most fertile soil in the whole kingdom. Their yams and other farm produce are twice as large compared to the ones from other villages farm produce. The citizens of Ozurumba looks very nourished and well fed, having a larger population of beautiful maidens and young handsome men, followed by children and the older populace . These people are driven with passion to work and also guided with resounding motto of honesty and love. But note in every basket full of eggs, there will always be one or more bad ones. Okochi is that very bad egg, he is the blacksheep of the Ozurumba kingdom. Okochi is a tall, muscular and heavily built lazy young monster of a man. All he does was to roam all around the whole village looking for games, stealing people farm produce and snare. Okochi will never work at the farm like most young men of his time does.
After farming, young men creates time to go into the bush hunting and setting of snare for games aside from their normal farming activities. What Okochi does is to sleep during the day and operate at night. He is the epitome of a professional village thief, anything he touches grows wings all of a sudden and flies. He does it so smartly that nobody knows he is the one doing the atrocities, he is quite aware that stealing is regarded as a taboo in the land of Ozurumba but still he yielded to the atrocity . The penalty for stealing is like calling on death itself, it is a sentence to the land of no return .

One bright sunny day, some villagers dashed into the palace with excitement and little rage to inform king of Ozurumba King "Odinaka 1" that his snare has caught a large beast, he was startled at first, but then, on getting the full details of what happened he felt elated, letting out a devious smile. He never knew that his forgotten snare could catch something that rewarding not to talk of a large beast, then he sighed revealing his contentment. So he immediately ordered his bodyguards to follow him so they could go together to fetch the game in the thick bush of Oguazu . As they were about leaving, one of the bodyguards requested politely that the king should retreat, but the king overruled the request and saying " I want to witness the slaying of the beast , it is an event we don't get to see always "

it is an event we don't get to see always " and off they went.... Five out of the ten palace guards escorted the king, two at his front and three at his back all armed with bows and arrows and some very sharp cutlass (mma-oge ). Gradually they disseapereed into the thick forest path . The king and his guards met several villagers on the way, they were all surprised to see the king with his men walking into the thick bush. Some gossips even said "whatever the situation the Igwe could have sent his guards and not him going with them, soft murmuring sounds kept trailing the atmosphere as Igwe passed. As the villagers saw their king, each and everyone of them stop to bow down to hail the king saying "Igwe igadi oo" (may the king live long) even the busy ones in the bush stopped whatever they were doing to hail their king too. Some of them even asked if they could be of assistance to the king in anyway but the king thanked them and told them not to bother themselves, leaving them with his blessings.
The King felt perturbed as he didn't know exactly where the snare was, so he surveyed the whole area trying to see if he could catch a glimpse of the beast. Then a loud frightening and a raging grunt escaped into the air from southward, and the King said this is the beast . They immediately retreated, now bent down, moving tip top tip top, heading directly towards the direction of the sound. Moving too close to the beast might be too dangerous, so they decided to stay a distance away. The king stood up steadily, see what the raging beast looks like, lo and behold it is a large bush pig . The raging eyes of the beast got fixated to the eyes of the king, the site alone of this beast terrorized the king and got him frightened . Then the palace guards raised their head also see the beast, they felt frightened and went back down immediately exclaiming " Chineke mie, kedu ihe bu ifaan " ( god ! what kind of thing is this) the beast is raging making a frightening sound, ready to devour anyone who comes close because the grip from the snare is hurting the beast so badly . If they really don't act fast, the beast might free itself, the snare wasn't designed to catch such kind of a very big game. Then the king said to himself, "but my fore fathers are great hunters, so why should this very beast scare me, this must be a test of faith, "Amadioha ano kwam gi naka o" ( Amadioha i'm in thy hands !). Then with great swiftness, he collected the bow and arrow from the guards, then he focus it immediately on the beast even as his hands were trembling a little. Taaaawaaam...... he missed, took another arrow, this time he tried to be more focused. Now he shot the walls of his ears, making it feel as though he and the beast was standing alone. He held the bow now firmly and more determined, saying from deep within, i pray this adventure don't end up in fiasco. Then he suddenly let go of the extended arrow as the string almost reached its elastic limit and away the arrow flew into the air, shattering the oesophagos of the beast. The beast let out, one last loud and final grunt with streams of blood gushing out profusely from the shattered oesophagos , the blood sprayed all over even into face of the Igwe. Then the beast dropped dead, immediately the palace guard bowed and hailed the king " Igwe gadi ooo, agu na chei mba ala Ozurumba " ( the king may you live long, the protector of the land of Ozurumba). One of the guards then picked up a clothing material from his bag to clean the Igwe's face. Moving closer to the beast, they saw how gruesome and deadly the beast looked like. The body of the beast was still vibrating with shocks, jerking up and down . They stared at the lifeless body of the as the king boosted about him being the greatest of all kings, then he commanded the guards saying "bring me the head of that beast, i shall hold it and dance as we go home, Ogaga bring out your flute and play your best rhythm". Ogaga's melodious note started playing at the background, one of the guards now picked up his cutlass and slashed the neck of the beast, cutting out the head. He handed the head immediately to the king, the king received it, and then sprinkled the dripping blood round about the ground, he muttered incantations and screamed " Thank you Amadioha the great god of thunder !

The king started heading towards the direction of home, the strongest amongst the guards bent to carry the carcass of the beast while Ogaga was still playing his flute. They were moving delightedly, dancing and singing then suddenly the king halted the music and stopped, not very far from him he saw a man vividly trying to unfastened something. As he quietly moved closer, then he saw the picture clearer...
