A desert Arab came to the Holy Prophet

the new moon of Ramadan.” He asked,
“do you testify that there is no god but
Allah?” he said: yes. He then asked: do
you testify that Muhammad is the
Messenger of Allah?” He said, “Yes.” So,
the Messenger of Allah said, “O Bilal,
announce to the people that they must
fast tomorrow.” [Sunan Abi Dawud, Vol.
1, Page 320 and Tirmidhi, Vol. 1, Page
148]

The Prophet (SAW) did not ask for graphics or even a description (graphics in 7th century? #Laughing) and mind you the process before announcement is painstaking. People had reported the sighting on Nairaland before the official announcement by Sultan quoting similar locations.

We should not seek to complicate issues that are straightforward.

month will begin in the UAE and Saudi Arabia from

When did Sahur end in Zaria? It is important we discuss these time variations so that many more people will understand the importance of knowing prayer times and time for Sahur and breaking fast vary within and outside Nigeria. They should find out what applies to them where they are.

But am telling with ultmost sincerity that emir of ilorin is against that announcement. Am in ilorin for that i know what am saying. Tarawi was never said at the emir's palace,nothing of such but some people go with sultan's announcement while some go with emir of ilorin.

You are mistaken, you do not need to "gather to pray Taraweeh". There is no record of the prophet stating that Muslims must observe Taraweeh before fasting.

What is your choice, Following the Prophet (SAW) vs. Following the Emir (According to you O)?
