sheddyboy: @Op, my teacher in secondary schl teachez me that #251 billion is an excess and big money, now that you have come with another story or tutoring saying "government earn ONLY #251 bn" can you tell me how mush they were suppose to gain from d deal in 14 yrs?. Should i believe you or my teacher that said, 'that amount is a Huge money'. When you sell 122 companies and make 251 billion, it is a micro change considering the Asset of the sold companies, Have you gone to Indorama (defunct Eleme petrochemical) before? At least they gained some money. Imagine How much govt would have lost if they were still operating those business. I Just pray they privatise Nigerian defense and security atleast that would save 1 trillion naira annually. |

the only benefit of privatized is a big benefit...Government in democratic order, has many cooks in the kitchen and they disagree and spoil+delay the end result....In business and production, spoiling and delays dont make money or serve the publics needs... Privatised will allow more decisive responses to issues and execution of policy because the business at hand will always be the only order of the day......Government has so much on its hands and would like to free up space to perhaps embezzle more money? The government will see less money from the privatised units, but long term growth will eventually benefit all and government tax collection will benefit from long term economic growth......But nothing works out well private or government owned in a culture of corruption and instability.... So it remains that the pressing issue is neither private or government ownership...The issue is the stability of the social structure in the culture of corruption that permeates leadership in the nation... 1 Like |
