The ekiti election was as a result of the insular nature of ekiti society .the following factors have all conspired to make it so.
1 geography
2 excessive emigration.
3 imbalance in class structure

Geography:ekiti is located in an hardly trespassed corner of odua states.I can bet that most non-resident ekiti have never stepped within her boundaries. For example ,ikere ekiti was more socially and infrastructurally developed and progressive due to her proximity to akure and major highways, before the state was created.
The same cannot be said of isolated igede,iyin,ifaki or even ado-ekiti before she became a capital.

2excessive migration:most educated and former resident ekitis are known to emigrate in large numbers.there are huge population clusters in akure,Ife,Ibadan , Lagos ,uk and America .
This has led to a dearth of local opinion shapers,potential job creators and local role-models .It is not uncommon to have a stark ,barely literate thug ,becoming a local government chairman or councillor..

3 imbalance in class structure : this naturally flows from excessive emigration.apart from the civil servant and the few remaining graduates ,there is hardly a private sector led ,middle class in the state to blunt the power/influence of the inefficient and bloated public sector ,artisans,okada riders etc.
It is only logical that the state will continue to be shaped according to their dictates.


WHERE APC/ACN GOOFED.

Fayemi failed to understand the turf he was operating.He failed to appreciate the damage which has already been done by the years of military rule and the discovery of oil.
Most farmers have dropped their hoes and cutlasses and are waiting for welfare from the government.
From the mafia-like Unions to the legions of unemployed.There was a need to give civic education to the common man on the street as well as making sure that public works projects/contracts benefit the people.
Things like making contractor employ local people on projects go a long way.it may at times be neccessary to do away with a bulldozer just to make sure that 500 people make a living.
Also , I believe the lack of virile opposition has made ACN a bit slack.

WHERE EKITI GOOFED:
Ekiti have invited the enemy into their backyard. They wanted food but they will hunger and retrogression .They replaced a performing technocrat with a very corrupt thug and murderer.
They have also invited people who want turn turn yorubaland into a borno ,free passage into yorubaland .
This is a setback for odua states.

Your analysis seems a tad bit unsophisticated to me. You're are basically blaming the customer for rejecting your wares. In politics as in business, the customer (in this case the voters) is king. Assuming they are stupid, just because of pervasive poverty, will cost your party many more elections in the future. The truth is that your lot lost because of sheer arrogance, period.

As an aside, I was looking at the pre-election poll by NOI and found it interesting that fully 100% of decided young voters said they were voting for Fayose.

My friend Nigeria politics is generally d give and take politics.
Even in Anambra state elections APC and PDP shared money ranging from 2k and above (not mere rice o!) and people collected and still voted for the party of their choice.
