Keshi should be left to continue building a formidable team. He should be sent on more coaching training and in the next 4yrs, we will have a very strong team that the world would respect.
Re: Super Eagles - The Way Forward by Goke7: 11:05am On Jul 03, 2014
I just want all keshi's haters to know that the next eagles coach have to get us to the quarterfinals of the next world cup before we can pass our final verdict on keshi even if the next coach wins afcon. But hope we also know that to qualify for a world cup is no beans.

Let's stop all these arguments and see if the next coach can surpass keshi's records, until then it will be unfair to crucify keshi now!

Keshi has done his best,he has nothing left to offer,he has given it all nd cnt do anybetter than this, keshi cnt beat any tactically sound team @ d world stage, yes he defeated bosnia bt i made bold to say dat it was mere luck, bocs dzeko's goal wud av stood nd osaze's goal wud av bin disallowed,He is tactically deficient @ d world stage it was clear for evribody to see from d confed cup to d world cup itself shows alot abt his tactical ineptudness,nd his selections of players to this world cup was nothin to write home about, der re players in dat squad dt shud neva go near out training camp again even if wwe want to play sao tome nd principle.

OP, you make me laugh. Several folks have said a lot already, so I won't bother repeating the same thing. All I will say is let the FA appoint the guys you've touted as Messiahs for our football. 2-4 years from now, we'll come back and reappraise the situation. This was how folks like you clamoured for Siasia after his U20 and Olympic feats, but just one screw up and you lot confined him to the trash can. Now you are doing the same to Keshi who has even achieved more.

Issorai, it's the Nigerian way! We usually leave our adulation for when our heroes die.

A Tactically deficient man that qualified 2 African nations to the world cup.. and won the nations cup (against even more "tactically sound" coaches) Before the Bosnian game people were on about how Bosnia were going to destroy Nigeria on the hand of how well they played against Argentina. Keshi out maneuvered them we called it luck.. Even though we completely dominated the game from mid field and had much better shot at goal.. still it was luck.. even when Keshi moved Emineke to the right and played a false 9 (a move that led to the goal and would have resulted to more goals had musa been more clinical) yet Keshi is not tactical enough.. I think clearly the only tactical mistake here is you having a brain in that skull of yours.. because frankly.. that brain has is a waste.

lloydtruth: Bros this is a great article and you really pointed at every part of the team,
Let me start with
THE ADMINISTRATORS: i must confess that the present NFF/ NFA ( which ever one) has done a lot to promote our brand, but they certainly need to do more to build on their success, by being a little bit professional and sincere in handling issues, i was a little sad when i heard of bonus/allowance palaver during the World Cup, but above all i give the administrators ABOVE AVERAGE and urge the to do more.

THE COACHING CREW: @OP you seem to know about AMOKACHI and things his is capable of, the truth is that AMOKACHI is not a good influence to our National teams, many still do not know the dirty role he played in the removal of SIASIA, and that includes most of 94 set (ikpeba, amokachi, okocha and oliseh) which SIASIA saw earlier and said that some people were jealous of him, similarly YOBO was referring to AMOKACHI the time he had problem in the national team when he said that a particular member of the coaching crew was jealous of him, the truth is that we don't need AMOKACHI around the team again.
KESHI: the best way to discribe keshi is to call him a motivator, he is not really a good tactician, if he wishes to stay i'll advise he goes for more training to update his tactics but if he wishes to go the NFF should look for a very tactical coach that is willing to make Nigeria his HOME, maybe they should take a look at that coach that took libya home base to south africa this year (that coach really knows what tactics is all about).

THE PLAYERS: with 2018 not so far away we need to start building and exposing our players to major tournaments, that is why i'll like most of the u20 players to be quickly drafted into SUPER EAGLES, atleast 5 players from that team should be part of the AFCON 2015, yes they maybe preaparing for the AYC 2015 during that period but they can easily fall back, we should also be looking at young anglo-nigerian player of real quality, put them together with some of the young players from the squad that went to the World Cup and we can get a solid team.
PLAYERS TO FORM THE NEW TEAM:

GOALKEEPERS:

VINCENT ENYAEMA (C)
AUSTIN EJIDE
DELE ALAMPASU (needs to learn from enyeama and ejide)and
another SOLID YOUNG GOALKEEPER (needs to learn from enyeama and ejide)

DEFENDERS:

KENNETH OMERUO
GOEFFERY OBOABONA
ELDERSON ECHIEJILE
JUWON OSHINIWA (impressed me at the World cup)
KENNY OTIGHA ( since he has indicated interest in playing for Nigeria, maybe the officials need to take a look at his QUALITY)
NDIDI WILFRED (of the u20): this guy is another OMERUO in the making, hope he lives up to expectations.
MUSA MOHAMMED (of the u20): he has an over flow of morale, with the way he is going he can keep any player permanently on the bench.
LEON BALOGUN (he impressed me in the match against MEXICO.

MIDFIELDERS:

OGENYI ONAZI
MIKEL OBI (if only he can drop pride and ego)
RAMON AZEEZ
NOSA IGIEBOR
EFE AMBROSE ( i know many will be wondering why he is not in my defence line up, the truth is that, that guy is simply wasting in that defence haven't we noticed that EFE has some tricky skill that opens up space? That guy should be our new no 10, his skills reminds me of KANU NWANKWO
IFEANYI MATTHEW ( of the u20) this guy is going to be one of the biggest midfielders from Nigeria in no distant time if he continues with the way he is going.
KELECHI IHEANACHO (of the u20) we already know what he is capable of all he needs to do is make a good progress at the clubside
CHIDIEBERE NWAKALI ( of the u20) another good midfielder that needs to make good progress at clubside
MICHAEL OLAITAN ( hope he returns from that heart problem ASAP

STRIKERS

VICTOR MOSES
AHMED MUSA
EMMANUEL EMENIKE
IMOH EZEKIEL (i still do not know why he was dropped for the World Cup
ISSAC SUCCESS ( of the u20) nigerian version of samuel etoo, looks like him, plays like him, dangerous like him, am suspecting samuel etoo
TAIWO AWONIYI ( of the u20) nigerian version of welbeck, same playing style, long legs good ball control, works for team
CHINEDU OBASI
SONE ALUKO.
There are still some other great players from the nigerian league.

For the defence, abeg no forget Nedum Onuoha.
I know he boy use siasia pose when we begged him to come play for Nigeria, because he thought he could make the england line up
now that england is out of the questions, let us approach him again
can play center back and right back, great defender with lots of experience. Ever present for QPR last season and one of their best players. will be playing in the premiership next season
Re: Super Eagles - The Way Forward by DanielGb(m): 11:52pm On Jul 03, 2014
from my own discretion, i believe he is one of a kind. A good coach. Its not easy to locate a star in the mist of the sun, only Keshi could do that. How? He kept digging dip and exploring our Nigeria League for raw talent. These produce the likes of Oboabuna, Oshaniwa, Mba, kunle odunlami et al.

Considering all this, However Keshi hav lapses. Holes to fil. The strategy to use. Being a good coach, motivator and dispilinarian, he is no good tactician. I can't imagine peligrini of Man city using one tactics or formation or game plan] to win all matches in the league. Keshi must learn to read a match or employ a tactical coach to do so. I cn confidently say the likes of 'van gaal, scolari, leow are not better than Keshi only that they are good tacticians, observer and have tactical minded coach as there assistant. A good example: Holland vs. Mexico. What make mourinho special is his tactic of being able not to conceed much goals while his team ensure they score. The only problem with tactics is to know the right one to use for that particular match (before and on the fied)

keshi is special. He only need to upbeat his game(compulsorly, his tactics.

You keep jumping from pillar to post...now it's no longer fifa ranking but World Cup debutant?

Can you name 1 player in the 94 squad that had previous World Cup Experience? cheesy

The only Bench Warmer in the 1st team lineup this year was Moses.

Every other player was a regular starter at his club. Mikel was a squad player last season though, but made regular appearances.

Most of the squad playing in Europe's top leagues.

Oya what's the next excuse?
I beg to disagree. Most of our players dnt play in d top lges.
Players like Oshaniwa,Ambrose,Oboabona,Emenike,Uzoenyi,Babatunde,Uchebo,Musa,Reuben,Ejide etc dnt play in top lges.
And d ones dat evn play in d truly top lges, some of dem are benchwarmers e.g Mikel,Moses,Echiejile.
Only d likes of Enyeama,Onazi
Osaze start regularly. And evn Onazi plays in d declinin Serie A.

Let the national football teams at all level(both male and female) be disbanded for atleast 2years. This is because the present crop of players can't really offer more than they have done thus far. Even female football where we used to be invincible, we have lost our glory at the African stage and at the world stage, super falcon have the worst record. The male team are full of pride and are only interested in money,. Let's take 2years or more to develop a new breed of guys dat would b tutored on all aspects of football and very importantly, they would be taught the importance of National pride and why they shld pursue excellence instead of money(our present crop of players lack dis form of education) finally, the 2 or more years break, will allow us enough time to go to d grasroot & scout 4young talents dat can b tutored/tailored(aftal we r nt participatin in a competition so we wnt b unda any presure 2pick ova aged playas). We also nid to invest in coaches(trainin and re-trainin, as we'll as getin d best hands nt d usual circle of coaches). I kw we hav a couple of gud guys in d team right nw, bt sacrifices hav 2b made nw 2secure d future bsyd dia associatn wit d bad eggs, hav contaminated them. Likewise d female teams also

Actually my problem with Keshi is that he left some of our good players behind.

In football, even if the tactics of the coach doesn't work, the players' brilliance can win the match.

Keshi's mandate was to play two Afcon qualifying games, which he has done.

Do you've any idea if he's to be retained or are we getting a new coach?
