Hamilton wins in Montreal. 3rd Canadian Grand Prix win
Vettel finishes 5th after starting 18th due to grid penalties
Hamilton 17 pts clear of the rest

so this thread is still up?!

as an avid Alonso Fan, and self proclaimed #1 Vettel hater, i have to say that this year is a disgrace (for me).

for Alonso to make that silly move to Mc Laren (we are still waiting for any sign that this will ever pay up), I CAN ACCEPT!
for Mc Laren to be as "really" bad as they are, I CAN ACCEPT!
to see Alonso retire over and over again, I CAN ACCEPT!
for Alonso to not even score a single point this year, I CAN ACCEPT!
for Vettel to move to Ferrari, I CAN ACCEPT!

BUT, for Ferrari "now" (after so many years) to have a great car that can challenge the leaders at the top, and its Vettel that will profit from that...... THAT, I CANT ACCEPT and its breaking my F1 fukcing heart!

Dude!! Try to accept that Alonso is a douche! Also realize that Ferrari had a great car in at least two of the 5 seasons Alonso the douchegoblin spent in Ferrari.

Also and the most important point Ferrari can't really challenge the Mercs. They need the Mercs to slip-up so they can take advantage

First tier - Mercs

Second tier - Ferrarri, Williams

They have failed to take pole in 7 races and you say they are challenging? How?

what Alonso did was a DESPERATE move in order to be able to win the championship again. the way the Mercs are going, you know that only a fantastic car could take them down from where they are at......and sadly, before the season started, many believed that Mc Laren with a Honda engine could be the ONE.

this year, Ferrari/Vettel is the only one that can truly get closer to the Mercs (as painfully as i have to admit), both Williams drivers, especially Massa, aint got it just yet. last yr, it was all about Williams and RBR, this year it is "so far" only about Ferrari in the second tier.

yes again, nobody is going to take this championship away from the Mercs this year, but Ferraris are giving them a hard time at the front, being very very close behind them.

Well he has miscalculated. AGAIN!! Like when he turned down RBR.

Obviously! But my point is the Ferrari and Williams are at par. The superiority of Vettel as a driver is why he can get close to the Mercs and challenge them

I don't know about hard time. Barring a dramatic turnaround its still most likely another Mercedes 1-2. Even the RBR's were never this dominant

Who followed the 24h Le Mans race

Hulkenburg won in a porsche

Webber came second

^^^ Porsches are now getting back at the Audi's dominance.

@A40
i dont think Ferrari could have financially handled Alonso AND Vettel....so he had to make a choice, and there wasnt a lot of teams willing and/or rich enough to have Alonso under their wings.

on paper, Mc Laren is suppose to shine, that must be why he decided to head there. no worries, he can always move next year to a better team.

Ferrari is great this year, but i havent seen William shine that much so far this year. yes, Vettel is the better driver at Ferrari this year.

well, as much as they aint getting that close yet, the mercs cant let go for one sec because the ferraris are right at the back.

Naah Alonso and Vettel would have had lots of personality clashes. It would be pointless trying to keep both not necessarily because of money

I also doubt that Alonso would get a better team unless he is willing to take a massive paycut. He will be 35 years next year with his best years most likely well behind him

Williams and Ferrari are at par IMO. They have been able to beat Raikkonen with relative ease and challenge Vettel as well. If you put Alonso in a Williams odds are he would compete and do better than Bottas and Massa have been doing

If you give Vettel that Merc there will be no title race by now
Re: FORMULA ONE F1 Official SeasonThread - Revamped by A40(m): 12:34pm On Jul 26, 2015
This year so uncompetitive niggas don't even post here anymore lol

Usual grid. Why they bother with qualifiers sef?

Hamilton
Rosberg
Vettel

R.I.P Jules Bianchi. Very very sad stuff! Remember Schumacher and also hoping he pulls through. Just another reminder of how these guys put their lives on the line every race

Superb drive from Vettel. What a start!

Raikonnen in tow as well. Hope he does a good job of blocking those Mercs like Centers block for QB's

Merc 1 2 for so long

This one a little exciting

He should still get a podium

Good job by vettel
Re: FORMULA ONE F1 Official SeasonThread - Revamped by A40(m): 2:30pm On Jul 26, 2015
Goddamnit! You klutz Hulkenberg

A safety car. Plays into LH's hands not

Raikkonen struggling too

Looks like a straight on fight btw The two Germans Vettel and Rosberg for the win
Re: FORMULA ONE F1 Official SeasonThread - Revamped by A40(m): 2:34pm On Jul 26, 2015
Hamilton driving extremely clumsy today. Cracking under pressure it seems

Now out of the top 10

Lewis is so lucky
Re: FORMULA ONE F1 Official SeasonThread - Revamped by A40(m): 3:38pm On Jul 26, 2015
Super Vettel. Fantastic drive from the 4 time Champ

Equals Ayrton Senna's record of 41 wins.

And even better both Hamilton and Rosberg finished 6th and 8th

Good job Agent Ricciardo. Na you cause kata kata for LH and Rosberg camp

Re: FORMULA ONE F1 Official SeasonThread - Revamped by A40(m): 5:02pm On Sep 21, 2015
Guess Hamilton was racing to the sunset. Till the Vettelmeister brought this Drivers Championship race back to life! Everyone knows Rosberg does not have a prayer. You could excuse Vettel's first two wins but this was pure dominance. One more retirement for Hamilton and who knows? Though Vettel is going to need some help from Kimi Raikonnen. Just needs to compete and split the Mercs while Vettel does the rest

Max Verstappen is also looking like a great driver for the future. Impossible to believe he is not 18 yet. Some people are truly gifted
Re: FORMULA ONE F1 Official SeasonThread - Revamped by MRBrownJ: 9:46pm On Mar 07, 2016
my F1 brothas, in a few weeks the Formula 1 season starts again, and we are set for some more action, and surely discussions.

has any of you followed the Barcelona testing? it seems like the mercs are as strong as ever, but the Ferraris and some few teams are closing the gap.... we will truly see how strong the Mercs are in Melbourne.
as for my favourite Alonso, I have high hopes that Honda have finally get their acts together, and that they will surprise a few this year.

on a funny note, was anyone as surprised as me when Vettel had the audacity to say a few days ago that: "Mercedes recent dominance has made F1 less exciting for the fans".... i guess he has quickly forgotten how REALLY boring F1 was (for close to 4yrs) when he was driving for RBR. bwaaaah! Ham's reply was PRICELESS: "It's pretty funny because he had four years of it and l've only had two....Until l get to his level l won't have bored them as much as he had!"

All na mind phuck. The last two years have been boring make we leave story. In the Vettel era only in 2011 and 2013 did he have the dominant car so they are about even. 2010 and 2012 we witnessed arguably the best title race in recent history

For this year I still think Seb is the only legit challenger

bro A40, long F1 time, hope the new Formula One season finds you in a highly anticipating mood, as i do!!!!
lol, i can see that you have lost none of your Vettelmania spirit this year... good on you, we'll have much to debate, discuss and/or even argue about, this year again.

so what you mean to say above is that, when Vettel was alone and ahead of everyone it was better to watch than today, when "both" Mercs are fighting it out at the front (even though Ham is often the better driver)? well you are entitled to your opinion, but keep that in mind for a sec and let us savour the few days/hrs we have left until the 1st race of the 2017 season, before we can get on with the heavy discussions.

as for any "legit challenger", let us also wait until FP3/QUALI at least to see how all these cars have improved this year. many of these teams were sandbagging, and we wont know how much until early sunday morning ... but then again, with such BS weather forecast and even "crappier" practice sessions, there is no way we can have a proper image of who is where in the queue (behind the Mercs), and most importantly, how close they are this time around. we may ultimately have to wait until Bahrain before we can have a decent idea of what time it really is with this F1 2016/2017 champs.

may the best man win and as usual, VAMOS ALONSO... make us proud with that "seemingly" BS car of yours!!!! yeah, i am hoping for some divine/baba Ijebu intervention and miracles here.

We just dey push am brethren. Team Vettel all day the boy bounced back spectacularly last year and I expect even more from him this time around

Can you tell me truthfully the last time we witnessed the title drama of 2010 and 2012? Are you claiming the largely one-sided rivalry between Rosberg and Hamilton matched that?
You call what went down a fight? Lol was there ever a time Rosberg looked like he could win the title? How many times did he outduel Hamilton? Of course it was a two-man race largely because both Mercs were so far ahead of the rest.

Australia is always a toss up. Especially the race itself but qualifying tends to give you an idea of who is who

WHAT A FANTASTIC START from Vettel/Ferraris, damn!!!!! i am truly impressed with their pace, it seems like we are gonna get a proper motor racing battle this year.... and yes, as much as i hate to see Vettel in front, this madness can only be good for F1. let's see if the Ferraris can hang on and make this 1st race of the season a clear UPSET. the Mercs are a shadow of themselves and they are clearly trying to catch up but it does look like a lost cause, and then Alonso crashed... :' NOOOOOOOOOOOO, anyone but NOT "el maestro" (baba Ijebu must reimburse me o!!!!)

ooooooh my brotha A40, it seems that this year, only the best driver will get this championship! if Vettel hadnt shaken in his bloody boots, we might have seen a wonderful battle at the end for 2nd/3rd place!

Haas finishing 6th on their 1st ever F1 race while motherfukcing "mighty" Mc Laren/Honda cant even get a decent bloody race or even points?! WTF!!!! these bastards are testing my nerves! what is it with that God forsaken Mc Laren BS car?!

Shaken? Your wasteman Alonso pretty much cost the Vettelmeister the race! Why can't he just retire and spare us the ignominy of watching him crawl to the finish every other week, its not like he is ever going to challenge for another title

Prior to the crash Vettel had that race in the bag. Just ran out of laps to pass Hamilton. I'm confident my boy would be in the running this year. He is the only one that can break the Merc monopoly

come on bro, we arent gonna start this F1 season with bias statement like the one above in bold!!!! although the red flag was a decisive point of the race, Vettel could have still won the race if Ferrari had taken the RIGHT decision then and pitted for medium. so blame Ferrari for that 3rd place finish, nobody else... same with Ricciardo.

yes, Vettel showed that he is up there with a great chance to give Mercs a run for their money (and make this season a possible gem) but i believe that Ricciardo is up there too.

as for saying that Alonso is finished, i beg to differ... and i will go even further and say that i believe he will win another championship before he retires.

Truth be told

The 2012 season had a bit of drama because Webber did not step up

2010 was a three way race and vettel stole in from.behind on Webber n Alonso

I agree partially they really should have pitted but that is one way of looking at it. They also probably thought and ended up trying to build a lead then pit knowing fully well they might not have won another face off with the Mercs.

Still but for Alonso's m0ronic driving Vettel was winning that race easy. When Alonso is at fault in a collision with Esteban goddamn Gutierrez you realize how much the mighty have fallen

Another Championship? Alonso is likely not winning another race never mind Championship. He's done braah
