Omisore accepts open debate with Aregbesola

on july 08, 2014 at 10:07 pm in news

Osogbo -  PDP’s governorship candidate in Osun, Sen. Iyiola Omisore has accepted the challenge to an open debate with Gov. Rauf Aregbesola.
The acceptance is contained in a statement given to newsmen in Osogbo on Tuesday by Mr Diran Odeyemi, Omisore’s Director of Media Affairs.
Gov. Rauf Aregbesola, APC’s candidate in the Aug. 9 election, had thrown the challenge at the inauguration of Ayegbaju International Market on Tuesday in Osogbo.
However, the statement said the governor must ensure that security prevailed for the debate to take place. “Assurance of safety, among other things, would make Omisore to attend the debate.
“When an argument is being made between two different parties for instance, it may result in physical assault and harassment.
“The senator is a complete gentleman and a holder of PhD. So, we need an assurance that there will be no physical assault on him’’, the statement said. (NAN)

Professional career[edit]
He is an embodiment of intelligence who has made the pursuit of excellence his trademark. Senator Iyiola Omisore is an engineer and politician of note, and an astute manager of resources whose attention to detail, calmness, and ability to simplify, and proffer solutions to complex issues is uncommon. In fact, his patriotic zeal and engineering acumen was brought to play tremendously when he was in the Senate between 2003 and 2011 and the country benefitted tremendously from this.

Engineering

He started his early professional life with the firm of Drake and Gordham while in the UK, in the early Eighties where he received on the job training and rose to top Management positions. Also, when the NSE was celebrating its Golden Jubilee in 2008, he was honoured with the Prime Award for Remarkable Contribution to the Growth of Engineering Profession and Society.

Project Management

On the consultancy side he was involved in the execution of several World Bank assisted projects and ADB/ADF assisted projects in virtually every part of Nigeria. Chisore Engineering Ltd was also involved in the Execution of many projects for Blue Chip Companies, Banks, Embassies, Shipping Companies; just to mention but a few. He was very successful in his professional endeavour, he diversified and today has interest in several areas of the Economy. Welcomed development, we need to know how (policies, programs, decrees and laws) you intend to govern Osun and what you intend to do (ie roads, education, security, agriculture etc)...This is what the masses should look out for...
Don't be okay when they say they'll tackle the issue of Security, Education, Infrastructure development, Agriculture etc Go ahead and ask them how do you intend to do these?

You failed to add his criminal history to it.
He killed the Golden Son of Osun state, Chie Bola Ige. Whose shoe he can not unbuckled.
He sponsored the killing of Makinde's family in 2011 when he knew he is going to loose his re-election bid to the senate

A good talker does not necessarily make a good leader. Yar'adua performed excellently as governor of katsina but never spoke much. All this talk about debate is pure deceit - after all they are groomed by experts to mesmerize the gullible with sweet talk but when they get into office they do the opposite.

I'm not moved with all these qualifications, if you like have Proffessor at the University of Heaven that I don't care. All I care for is good governance, most of our past hero don't have big qualification, but they will be forever in our mind base on the good things they left behind.

Let's hear them out to tell us what they have for us. I remembered how Ogbeni Aregbesola stick to his promises for we people of Osun. I heard him when he said it in his campaign den that ;I'll employ 20,000 workers within my 1st hundred days in Office and I'll make Education free for the people of Osun state just as Awolowo did.

To God be the Glory, Ogbeni Aregbesola employed 20,000 youths for his youth empowerment scheme, though he is paying them lesser money but half a bread is better than none.

Ogbeni Aregbesola made Education easy for people of Osun state by mandating it that no Secondary or Primary school student must pay a kobo in school again, even PTA money has been eradicated plus free meal, free tablet, free Uniform he is offering them.

I will be glad to see him promising us better things in his 2nd tenure if Elected and as for Omisore even with all his qualifications, all he knows is too eat two corns at a time

Very impressed with his CV.... coming from a building services engineer as well

But the debate is a whole different game.... he needs to prove beyond his CV as to why people should vote for him

I understand his past hasn't been pure.... criminal accusations here and there, he has a tough task in convincing the electorate.
