I May Not Seek Re-election - Okorocha by WIZGUY69(m): 8:59am On Jul 10, 2014 |
Category: Inside politics Published on Wednesday, 09 July 2014 05:00 Written by Johnkennedy Uzoma, Owerri Hits: 2586 Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State yesterday declared that he may not seek to be re-elected as governor of Imo State. Okorocha stated this while addressing a church congregation at the First Session of the 2nd Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Ohaji/ Egbema held at St.Pauls Church Mgbirichi in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State. The governor said that he may not come to anybody in the state to campaign or seek for votes for re-election in the forth coming 2015 election because of his interest in the Presidential ticket. Describing governorship position as burdensome, Okorocha added that he knew the risk he took by going to the land of the devil to force power out of the evil ones for the interest of the people of the state. He said: “I went to the land of demons to force power out of the evil one for the good of Imo people”. This is coming even as the expectations of Imo people remained hanging whether Okorocha will contest for a second term or go for presidential election come 2015. Okorocha has never minced words in telling Imo people that he is considering what he has achieved in Imo and that if given opportunity for the presidency of the country with the enormous resources, he would do more than both the present government and the previous leaders. Earlier, the Anglican Bishop of Ohaji/Egbema Diocese Imo State, Rt. Revd. Chidi Collins Oparaojiaku informed the governor that the people of Ohaji/Egbema need to be rescued in the areas of electricity and road rehabilitation. Most of you shouting he wouldn't win any election under APC didn't even bother to read the write-up. He said he may not seek re-election because he's aspiring for the Presidency. Meanwhile, I've been opportuned to listen to Rt Revd Chidi Oparaojiaku's sermon and I must say, he's a blessing to his Diocese and the Anglican Communion at large! |
