Seventeen Nigerian lawyers were today elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). A statement by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee signed by the Chief Registrar/Secretary, Sunday Olorundahunsi, said they were elevated as a mark of excellence. The new SANs are: 1. Dr. Olu Onagoruwa, OFR 2. Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan 3. Olusola Olaseni Idowu, Esq. 4. Dr. Ernest Mabauchi Ojukwu 5. Ahamefula Ikechukwu Eke Ejelam, Esq. 6. Chike George Onyemenam, Esq. 7. Tawo Eja Tawo, Esq. 8. Olatunde Oluranti Adejuyigbe, Esq. 9. Sylvanus Aghumele Ogwemoh, Esq. 10. Dr. Adewale Adedamola Olawoyin, Esq. 11. Dr. Joshua Olukayode Olatoke, Esq. 12. What? No federal character or quota system in this appointments. It cannot stand. The north is more populated than the south. Where is equity in this appointments.
