What does the BMW Roundel symbolize?
The Roundel logo stems from the days of its aircraft heritage, and symbolizes a spinning propeller.
A huge part of the logo are the blue and white fields, and those come off the Bavarian flag. (Bavaria is a state in Germany. Yes. BMW's come from Bavaria.)

Few helpful tips to follow before buying second hand car parts:

Before buying or ordering the used car part, please make sure that you know exactly what you want. If you are not sure about the spare part and model number, then take the part with you while visiting the spare part shop or junk yards.
Be confident and explain the details about the parts. Make sure that you ask for the quality and the warranty (limited) of the part before buying. Also, you have a good chance to bargain if possible.
If you are not feeling confident about buying the part yourself, then make sure that you give the call to the scrap yards before visiting them so that they can find that for you.

Marriage doesn’t affect your car insurance - yes or no?

Marriage is life changing; you know that. But did you know that it also affects your car insurance? Since tying the knot usually augments your assets, you want to make sure that you’re able to protect your increased finances in the event of an accident. Plus, when you insure more than one car on the same policy, many car insurance companies will give you a discount.

My car sounds like an airplane. Why?

Most wheel bearings manufactured today are sealed bearings. They come from the factory pressed together as an assembly. Seals protect bearings from the elements, water, and debris, and they also seal in high-temperature grease the bearing needs to operate. When the seal is broken or damaged, the wheel bearing will fail and start making noise. Many describe this as an airplane noise, but others might say it is like driving over a rumble strip on the side of the highway or the whirring of a helicopter propeller.

Bottom Line: No matter how you describe it, wheel bearing issues need to be sorted out asap, especially considering the noise will get louder and louder the longer you leave it.

Yes, it's true.

And, if you really want it - compare it to a Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

Inspect Hoses and Belts

Inspect your belts and hoses every three months or so. Pay particular attention for cracking or fraying on your V-belt or serpentine belt and also check for looseness or overall wear. You may also want to take this opportunity to look at your timing belt, although its typical lifespan is between 60,000 and 90,000 miles.

Once you are finished checking your belts, turn your attention to your vehicle’s hoses. Check for cracks, swelling, restrictions, or leaks and replace as necessary.

Many newer cars today come with a touch button start, so the alcohol sensor would be located in that button. In the time it takes the car to start, the sensor would be able to tell if the driver had been drinking and keep the vehicle from moving. The other option for the breath activated sensor would be located on the steering wheel. It would take a sample of the air in the vehicle when the driver got in and would keep the vehicle from being driven if the legal limit was exceeded.

When checking tire pressure, always do it when the tires are cold – about three hours after parking the car.
Place the air pressure gauge firmly and evenly onto the tire’s valve stem – this allows air to escape, but steady pressure will stop the air flow and give a gauge reading.
Tire pressure should be checked bi-weekly, particularly during severe weather or temperature swings.

The little battery ( charge malfunction light ) should come on and go out fairly quickly as your engine revs at start up. The process is a bulb check to be sure the malfunction light operates. What does it really mean when the light does come on and stays on. Rarely does it come on and NOT mean there is a problem with your charge system ( battery, alternator, voltage regulator, wiring, and engine control module ). When this light failure indicator has occurred – imminent break down is on its way. Without electric your car will shut down.
