Abuja - Concern over the disagreement between the
Senate and the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC) over the $218 million oil
revenue, President Goodluck Jonathan has finally
decided to intervene.
He has directed relevant authorities to act on the
matter before it degenerate further, reports New
Telegraph.
The President’s intervention is to prevent undue
sensationalism or confrontation, which happened
during the time of former Governor of Central Bank
(CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
The Senate had mandated the NNPC to remit $218
069 million into the federation account being the
share of the federation from third party financing
agreement, a claim the NNPC had denied.
