I hear that. However, I won't put the blame on them, they're just a victim of circumstance. I'd wager that the missing airliner from early this year was also shot down, but there has been a cover up for that.

In this particular case, the Ukrainian air traffic control gave them clearance to use that route. Perhaps, in hindsight we could question why they didn't avoid Ukraine, and use a next route. Regardless it has happened already and there is nothing no one can do about it, other than learn from this one.

Apparently, the Dutch who happen to make up majority of the victims aren't that bothered. And earlier today, a lot of them were still boarding Malaysian airlines, and some guy they interviewed asserted that he feels safer, since it isn't something that's likely to happen all the time.

The missing plane is not yet found and they are still shutting down more birds ops planes

Nah, it has nothing to do with Putin. UK lost 10 Brits, and Germany lost 4 Germans - and they haven't really said much either. Also, that has been the sentiments all over European capitals. Only the yanks and Kiev have been ramping up rhetoric and pointing fingers at Russia, without facts, while trying to force Europe to act. I believe it's better to wait for facts and proper investigations before acting, not propaganda from both sides.

Also, based on satellite tracking, it has been confirmed that the missile didn't come from Russia. The airliner was shot down by a BUK missile system within Ukrainian territory. Furthermore we know Ukraine has tons of BUK missile systems, and the separatists also captured one from Ukraine last month - and they posted it on youtube. German newspapers also reported today that you need a central radar system to operate BUK missile system - and the separatists don't have that capability. But Ukraine has and more.

The opaque/mixed messages coming out of Russia look suspicious, just as the over-the-top political rhetoric from the yanks and Kiev Junta scream red-flag. So, I believe it's better to wait for facts and full investigations before sticking your neck out. And that's basically what Europe is doing. Playing the safe bet.

I heard there was about 100 HIV/AIDS scientist on the flight going to an AIDS conference in Australia, does this have anything to do with the plane being shot down? We will never know, it will be covered up just like TWA flight 800 crash exactly 17 yrs ago was covered up and blamed on mechanical reasons rather than the eyewitness who saw a missile going towards the plane.
