For the Lagos State Commissioner for Transport, Comrade Kayode Opeifa, this is the time to start offering thanksgiving to Almighty God for His mercies.

On Friday, 18th July, 2014, the Commissioner escaped death by the whiskers as he was attacked by angry youths and thugs at the local government meeting of the Agege LG chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Eye witnesses told thegazellenews.com that the Commissioner had arrived the venue of the meeting where angry youths have positioned themselves to express their anger. “What is he doing here? Was the murmur among the youths especially commercial drivers and commercial motorcyclists among the crowd.

The chairman of the Agege APC, Adewale Adeyeye had finished addressing party members at the meeting which took place at African Church Central Primary School, Agege, the oldest school in the area.

When it was the turn of the Commissioner to speak, the angry youths moved towards the high table and snatched the microphone from him thereby preventing him from speaking.

Before one could say, ‘Jack Robinson’, sachet water started raining on the Commissioner from the angry youths who had positioned themselves with bags of sachet water at strategic points at the venue of the meeting.

As Opeifa was being shielded and led to his car, stones started coming from another direction, thus he had to be hurriedly pushed into his car for him to escape the scene.

The grouse of the attackers, thegazellenews.com learnt, was that the Commissioner had the gut to come and address the gathering after what they described as ‘the draconian and wicked’ policies put in place by his ministry which has hampered smooth running of commercial transport in the state.

A day before, Thursday, 17th July, 2014, another APC meeting in Agege ended in chaos. Angry youths also attacked the Chairman of APC in Ward A, Alhaja Bimbo Kuku, at the ward meeting which took place at Capitol Road, Agege.

All efforts to speak with the Commissioner failed as his phone was switched off but sources within the Agege APC confirmed the incident to this medium

Same way he was publicly shamed, drenched with water and driven away with chants of "ole ole" at the Gani Fawehinmi Memorial event last year ...

The dude must be an original suffer head.
