In a commando style, members of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Monday morning impeached the Speaker, Chukwuma Nwazunku.

18 out of the 24 members of the Assembly reportedly voted out the Speaker.

The members lifted the suspension of the three members before impeaching Nwazunku.

The three members are Hon Frank Onwe, Hon Eni Uduma Chime and deputy speaker, Hon Blaise Orji.

Hon Frank Onwe moved the motion for the Speaker’s impeachment which was seconded by the minority leader, Hon Enyi C. Enyi.

Thereafter, Hon Eni Uduma Chima representing Afikpo South West moved the motion for election of Hon Helen Nwaobasi representing Abakaliki South state constituency.

The motion was seconded Hon Jerry Obasi.

Hon Helen Nwaobasi has since been sworn in as the new speaker

It's all the insanity that guides the dictatorship that we proudly call democracy.

I am glad that the new speaker is a woman though. In leadership and decision-making,most women are more careful,thoughtful and saner than many men.

The Enugu State House of Assembly has formally commenced impeachment proceedings against the Deputy Governor, Sunday Onyebuchi , as it directed the Clerk, Christopher Chukwurah to serve (Onyebuchi) with the notice.
