hello, i will like to know why you have restrict your user from posting more than 2 ads per day? if you think some people post too many cars everytime i think restricting them from using ur site is not the solution, i think its better when u charge them little amount for posting more than 3 or 4 cars in a day by so doing anyone who need to posting more will know that there is responsibility for posting more than 3 or 4 cars a day and one thing you dont uderstand is that if you make ur user to leave this site then there wont be anyone here anymore but we all know that you are doing a great job but its better to improve to the right part than creating a way to send away ur user please think about this. thanks

The owner of the site has after much discussion among the membership asked that cars be advertised with their VIN or Chassis number.

Every car that leaves a factory anywhere in the world has this number.

Anyone selling a car who can't locate it (or ask their mechanic) should IMO not be selling cars.

The only plausible explanation for not providing this number is either there is something wrong with said automobile, or the person doesn't have physical access to it. There is nothing, I repeat nothing that a 3rd party can do with this number other than look up the cars history.

Don't understand why this takes 6 pages of comments to determine.

You definitely deserve some accolades for digging this out

We need a Moderator on this forum to enforce this VIN issue. As this website becomes more and more popular, we see people advertising more everyday and that`s good but getting some of them to post the VIN is like pulling teeth.

There are individuals who have taken it upon themselves to provide reminders to the posters but people do not always listen to them. Please, let`s appoint a Moderator. igwe1 is my choice for obvious reasons (see his posts in the Auto section) but if there are others out there, no probem.

What you don't know is NL is a traffic driven forum. There was no competitor 10 years ago but now we have the likes of olx,cheki and jiji who are giving NL a run for his money but they fail to understand people like me are addicted to NL.
When rules are too stringent, attention and traffic shifts to other websites, that is why such rule will NEVER see the light of the day because it affects oga's pocket. I could remember how we fought to ensure our adverts stay in front page then. I can confidently tell you soo many great people has left NL or rather visit NL once in a blue moon unlike before.
NL design is simple, have so many unique factors and above all it's educative and interactive.

I strongly urge Nairaland members to avoid buying any car if the seller doesn't provide a chasis number or VIN.  Sellers should also try to upload pictures of any vehicles for sale.  Let us do what we can to restore confidence in this little automobile market or ours. [b] There is no penalty for not including the chassis number [/b]but nobody will buy your car!

This has to be re stated again.I think there should be penalty!
