As the rate of terrorism grow everyday in a once peaceful nation called Nigeria, the president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan proposed a whooping sum of $1bn to fight terrorism. Is this a step worth taking or another beneficial sum of money about to be wasted. |

He has spent more than that in the last 3 years and nothing to show for it. He needs the money to 'rig' the forthcoming election, fight opposition party/members and not terrorism! |

@OP Have you been following events to date? When they brazenly embezzled and looted $18 billion sunk into defence and security between 2010 and now you can still take this latest demand for $1 billion as anything other than a shameless attempt to garner funds for the upcoming 2015 "do or die" election? 2 Likes |

It looks like we have forgotten about the name the "Paris Club". For more than twenty years, Nigeria could not drink water because of this ogboni club. We nearly died till God used Okonjo-Iweala to deliver us from the bondage of this ogboni money lender people. The question is: is Borno state worth $1B? If Chad offered us a Borno-sized piece of their country, would you borrow $1B to acquire it? If we borrow this money, it is our children and grandchildren that will suffer it. (The Niger Delta people will soon withdraw from Nigeria with their oil money). Let us dash Borno state to Shekau, the good people there can come down to Nassarawa state. The Chibok people that came to see Jonathan are not going back. We have made seriuos arrangemnets to resettle them in Nassarawa. |
