The Acting Governor of Adamawa
State, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, says the
administration of ex-governor Murtala
Nyako left behind a debt of about
N12.8bn without any infrastructure to
show for it.
Fintiri stated this when former
members of the Adamawa State House
of Assembly, led by Ambassador James
Barka, paid him a congratulatory visit
at the Government House, Yola.
The acting governor promised to lay a
solid foundation for the administration
coming after the transition period to
build upon.
He said, “I assure you that justice,
equity and fair-play will be my focus,
and I will treat people equally
irrespective of tribe or religion.”
He explained that the legislature
removed the Nyako administration in
order to save Adamawa State, adding
that the action was simply democracy
in action.
Fintiri said, “With the support I’m
getting from the people of Adamawa
State as well as the People’s
Democratic Party in Adamawa and the
Federal Government, and with God on
my side, within the 90 days
transitional period, citizens will feel the
impact of government more than in
the last seven years.”
He expressed joy over the visit by his
colleagues and sought their prayers,
advice and support, stressing that his
doors would always be open for them
and they should not hesitate to draw
his attention, if he was deviating.
Earlier, the Leader of the delegation,
Ambassador James Barka, had said
they were in his office to congratulate
him and to also express gratitude to
him for leading a cause that freed the
people of the state from misrule.
He described Fintiri as a detribalised,
non-religious person and promised him
theirsupport.

Ever wondered why the FOI Bill is not working in APC Hostage Held States? It will reveal their monumentous looting of state funds. If Nyako has noting to fear he would stayed back and face trial
