Me and my friends were having our usual discussion on the current activities of boko haram sect in the country and majority of them thinks the military could take over the present government any time soon. Though some of us opposed to this,as we believe the era of military rule has gone into extinction all over the world but i have been pondering over its possibility since yesterday, because, i am beginning to realise that the military have long been pushed to the wall enough . So,i would like to have your own opinion on this.

Military have no place in leading Nigeria. Also many top Army officers are already stealing big in this democracy.

But it is important for Politicians and political office holders in this democratic government stop the impunity, negligence of duty and the people, anti-people policies, massive corruption, killings and negativity that are now rampant in this administration.

People like you keep inciting violence, throwing accusations, insulting, making degrading statements about others. At this rate of yours, fighting will break out in a time of absolute Peace. And you still claim to be Christian with your heart dark as the grave.

If you hope that if war breaks, Nigeria will divide, then you will be disappointed. Irrespective of what happens, Nigeria will not divide. We will overcome you and your likes.

If you like bomb 170 million Nigerians, we will still vote out Jonathan and members of his Coven. Kicking out Jonathan is a Call To Duty for every Nigerian. And we are equal to the task before us. Up One Nigeria!

Mr. Gift, I want to tell you that "Generals" don't stage coup. It is Junior Officers that do- notably, Colonels, Majors and Captains. Generals are only installed based on superiority. Only in 83, 85 and 1994 that Generals led coup d tat against the incumbents.
Re: Is It Possible For The Military To Take Over The Govt In Nigeria? by EasternLeopard: 6:48am On Jul 25, 2014
@OP

Who will lead the coup? Certainly not Southerners.

Do you think if a Northern coup overthrows GEJ, the SS SE Christian North and some SW will accept it.

Any Northern coup against GEJ will divide the army causing Nigeria to breakup.

So tell your friends who lack proper understanding of Nigeria should start seeing things the way things are

What's d difference btw military govt and what we have now? The only difference here is that the man in Aso Rock is not wearing military uniform. But his character, leadership style is all but military and uses it against real or imagined political opponents. But unfortunately does not know how to use such powers against Boko Haram and corrupt public officers in his govt.

I am greatly disillusioned about this country. I see the society turning noble men into criminals on a daily basis and i wonder, who created Nigeria?
How can a system reward the evil men and punish others for standing by what is right? Check it out- if you are honest in the civil service, your days are numbered. If you refuse to partake in the conspiracy to do malpractice in exams, you are in trouble. If you get into the game of politics with clean hands, you are doomed from the start. The university is rotten. Inventors are frustrated. Geniuses are forced to leave the country in order to survive. In fact the country has failed. Let the military take over if they have the Jerry Rawlings touch. If not, let the country be divided peacefully abeg.

..from history, most of the coup d'etat that happened in Nigeria were being carried out by the junior officers and not the generals except one. It is true that our generals have now become political stooges but i believe there are still some junior officers that are seriously aggrieved by these shenanigans. A typical case study was the mutiny that happened in maiduguri not too long ago.
