Former Kaduna State governor AbdulKadir Balarabe Musa yesterday said the suicide attacks on Wednesday against General Muhammadu Buhari and Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi in Kaduna undderscored the letter written by former President Olusegun Obasanjo accusing the government of planning to kill some prominent people.

Musa, who spoke to Daily Trust in Kaduna, said: “It was alleged that the targets in the explosions were Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi and General Buhari. That should draw our attention to the letters written by Obasanjo and Governor Murtala Nyako recently of selective brutality as one of the agenda of the government. Some gave them a political meaning but these bombings were either made to eliminate them or give them warnings.”

He said there was a speculation before the civil war in 1966 that about 1000 people were to be assassinated by the government which brought the ‘Araba’ (disintegration) riot and eventually the war.

He said the federal government must find suitable ways of tackling insurgency before it spreads to other parts of the country.

“Bombing is not a northern phenomenon rather a national matter that must be collectively addressed. Boko Haram is a threat to all Nigerians and it is not impossible to address.

Similar thing occurred after the civil war in 1970 when robberies became rampant in the south-east and other parts refuse to act,” he said.

“They later spread to other parts and after three years there was either a robber or an informant in every major town in the country.”

He said dialogue and amnesty are the safest ways of tackling insurgency which the federal government must utilize.

Nyash reasoning

Why would GEJ, want to assasinate a serial loser.

Look deeply and you will see that some Northerners want to use Buhari's death to start a riot in order to plot a coup.
