Please I need info on the Graduate field specialist recruitment process, is the initial test a skill test or just the normal SHL or PSL? Do the successful ones go straight to BHE? Or what? As per the Graduate field engineer when they start calling i would drop info.. But please take your time to read last year thread.

Very good bro, really impressing, and also the tissue should be used to soak out reagents from the tube of the pH meter to avoid contaminating the next chemical to be tested.

exactly man... even if you are not successful, you can alway re-apply. not like Total that once you apply you can't re-apply after unsuccessful trial.

hmmm, how true is this info ? I think is the other way round. the last excursion my school had to baker , we were told once you are above 25 , you cant come in thru the GEDP plus I know someone who qualified for last year's recruitment but his application was bounced , am thinking its cause he applied a year before. how did you get to know about total's stand ?

how do you want me to proof Total's policy? TEPNG for chief operation or production operator often state that certain year of graduates are not eligible to apply... ask people around.

Ok , chill man , I just want peeps to be sure of what they read..... .no be debate. you should correct your earlier post then , it isnt you can't apply after being unsuccessful but you can't apply because you did not meet the year of graduation requirement.they are 2 diff things. besides total is quite fair with that requirement , considering the time frame ; about 4 years I guess . some dont take more than 2 years after graduation.

Pronto! If there wer as much companies as BH, it would be a very good thing. Let me add that if you did IT with an oil firm, state it in your CV and outline your dutys and activities implemented while there. They pay more attention to that!

They are many companies like BH, many who pay better than BH.. Multinational companies want the best they can get so their recruitment process i can assure you is 110% based on merit.

Very true, though some mediocre people still hold vital positions as HR personnel and end up altering the recruitment process most times.
Like this BH recruitment now, some will be invited while the lager bulk of applicants will not even be invited at all. If you have a staff referral it could also have a role to play in the first invitation. The rest has to do with your head, your hand and how connected they are with one another.
Re: Baker Hughes 2015 Graduate Field Engineer! by Nobody: 8:58pm On Aug 09, 2014
yea , I concur about the merit of these recruitment processes . I think a new development which is welcomed is the use of hr personnels from another country from the start to the finish.

i thought having a family member at BH was a disadvantage.

Thanks all for the prompt answers to my questions. I still like to know the differences between FIELD SPECIALIST and FIELD ENGINEER, GRADUATE FIELD ENGINEER.

I am a graduate of Petroleum Engineering (2008), without any form of oil and gas experiences. Which of these positions is appropriate for me to apply?

Finally, can I re apply for a position I once withdrew my application for?

Field Graduate Engineer = Graduate/ Management Trainee (BSC/beng/btech etc)
Field Specialist = Operator Trainee (hnd)
As a Graduate trainee after the three years training u move up the ladder swiftly..you are being trained on being a manager i think

Not a disadvantage,
They want to be sure your family member will not interfere with the meritocracy of the recruitment process.

Its all about your qualification.
Graduate Field specialist have a 2-3 year technical degree i.e Higher national diploma in Nigeria and equivalent
Graduate Field Engineer have a 4-5 year bachelor degree in a technical course (listed on the job specifications I suppose). Management or operations is not automatic depending on your degree. Your business Line and qualities will determine if you will be in the office or on the field or switching between both.

Thank you for the prompt rsponse. It appears the appropriate role for me to apply is for FIELD ENGINEER since I am B.Eng Holder.
Thanks once again for the enlightment.

But what about my graduation year (2008), not too stale for this position?

No harm trying so far you can prove you have gained technical experience between 2008 and 2014.

BH doesn't just invite anyhow for tests, so structure your application in the best possible way.

Best Regards.

I am not for this job though, my current pay and job structure favors me more as compared to what BH offers.
can you give a hint on what BH offers? cheesy
