info making rounds suggests some people have been apprehended for voting( b4 election) and also in possession of electoral materials. no party name has been mentioned but the usual opposition-is-responsible have started.

The Commissioner of Police in charge of Osun State governorship election, Mr. Augustine Evbakhabokun, on Friday warned trouble makers to stay away from the state or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.

He warned voters against taking photograph shot of their already thumb printed ballot papers. He said the act constituted a breach of the Electoral Act.

He said that there would be total restriction of movement from 6pm on Friday to 6pm on Saturday until after the election.

The CP said that the restriction would affect media organisations’ vehicles conveying newspapers into the state. Evbakhabokun also debunked the rumour that two officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission were arrested with vehicle full of already thumb printed ballot papers. He confirmed that the police arrested two INEC officials with the commission’s vehicle and they were taken to the State Criminal
investigation Department for interrogation. He, however said that the two officials had been cleared by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mr. Olusegun Agbaje, who confirmed that the men were on an official assignment.

MEANWHILE, APC had made public

The All Progressives Congress has accused the new Police Commissioner in Osun State, Ibrahim Maishanu, of distributing cash to police personnel and soldiers deployed in the state to skew the Saturday’s governorship election in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party. It alleged that the new police boss gave every police officer present N50,000 while other ranks and every non-commissioned soldier received N30,000 and N45,000 each, respectively.

The APC also alleged that a top hierarchy member of the PDP in Anambra State had entered Osogbo with 50 troops he was given from Enugu with the mission to use the result sheets already given to him to manipulate the results of the election, as well as to harass and brutalize any APC member who would not let the PDP carry out its rigging plan during Saturday’s election earlier exposed by the APC.

Two INEC officials in Obokun LGA Area of Osun State were in the early hours of Friday arrested by some security men for diverting sensitive election materials. One of the suspects, the Electoral Officer for a local government confessed to the act but refused to name those who sent him. However, he did not deny when confronted that he was sighted inside a vehicle belonging to a PDP stalwart in Obokun, Chief Francis Ade Fadahunsi.

DailyPost was informed that his phone call log also showed that he has had constant voice and SMS communication with the PDP chieftain. Report says a vigilante group in Otan-Ile would have lynched the suspects but for the intervention of some police officers who saved him.
