The race of the chosen people is irrelevant. If there is a God who decides to engage in favoritism, then we must all obey his statutes anyway. We see instances in the bible where God himself presents unthinkable challenges to his followers in order to test their loyalty. Abraham was told to murder his own child. God also told someone to mutilate the p:enis of a newborn boy and call it circumcision.

That's why we must first be clear about the existence of such a God. If God required that you murder your mother, would you not do it?
