Ladoja Attributes Pdp’s Loss To Omisore’s Personality by MRLINGTON(m): 11:18pm On Aug 12, 2014 |
The victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State on Saturday has been described as not a loss to the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but to its candidate, Iyiola Omisore. The National Leader of Accord Party and the former governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja, stated this in his reaction to the re-election of Aregbesola in a chat with journalists. It was at the installation of Nureni Aderemi Adeniran as the third President of Rotary Club of Ibadan, Jericho-Metro District 9125 at the weekend. Ladoja alleged it was because of Omisore’s lack of acceptable personality to galvanise the support of the people of the state, who were desirous of change, but who could not find in the two-term Senator the kind of personality to invest their votes in. The former Oyo State helmsman recalled what he said after the Ekiti State election that the Ekiti people voted for Ayodele Fayose and not the PDP. He said people of Osun State did not reject PDP but Omisore because of his controversial personality. He lauded the election, which he described as the will of the people and congratulated both the governor and the people for a successful electoral outing. Ladoja in his comment during the programme had raised question about the proposed $1bn loan being requested for by President Goodluck Jonathan to fight insurgency, wondering why such a huge amount of loan to fight a pocket of insurgents when the country is not at war? “Nigeria fought a civil war for three years without borrowing a kobo and we are now going to take a whooping $1 billion loan to fight insurgents, one may need more facts to really understand what’s going on,” he stated. The former governor, who about two weeks ago declared that he would seek his party’s nomination for the state governorship election reiterated his commitment to the project and assured that the people of the state should expect the government formed by Accord Party in 2015. That is a lie. No one from PDP apart from Omisore had much electoral value. Omisore is an Ife man, a section of the state that had high number of voters. A better candidate does not necessarily translate to high electoral value. 4 Likes |

A better candidate does not necessarily translate to high electoral value. A better candidate like Adeleke would have given PDP more votes than what Omisore had, but certainly won't still be enough to beat Aregbesola. Osogbo(Osogbo & Olorunda) + Iwo and the Ijesha's vote is enough to make any candidate win. Fortunately for Aregbe, those are his stronghold. |

PaulJohn1:Can Adeleke pull that much votes from Ife? Omisore was the closest bet to getting the state off Aregbe but Aregbe is just too good a politician to let go 2 Likes |

Omisore has that look of a very wicked and vindictive man. His facial appearance alone is almost enough to convince anyone he killed Bola Ige. A picture of him greedily eating two roasted corns at a time with both hands and his Adolf Hitler style moustache didn't /doesn't help him either! 5 Likes |

BishopMagic: I dont get what you are yapping about? In simpler language a candidate who is more qualified( knowlege, ability to perform e.t.c ) might perform poorly at the polls than a less qualified candidate . assuming both are fielded on the same platform. That is one of the drawbacks of democracy, especially in a setup like Nigeria where sentiments richly guide the choice of the majority of electorates. 2 Likes |

emiye: Most times, over qualified candidates never ever make good leaders. You need someone who is knowledegable but willing to work and take advice from smarter people. BTW Fashola or any of your boko broom sweepers is no where comparable to GEJ when it comes to leadership, patience and tolerance and that is what Nigerians need and not some fascist bigot operating on fiat. |

emiye: The Plebs also denounced Caeser as a dictator after Brutus' eulogy only to later side by Anthony after his own speech. Jesus was not a political figure but a political threat to the Sanhedrin that is why they mobolized the crowd to have him killed. Same thing you Jnajaweeds are doing by trying to force feed Nigerians with that despot, Buhari 1 Like |

emiye: Anybody with any experience in Management will tell you that Technical experience is not always the key to Managerial success. You need an individual who is a team leader who is willing to lead and listen to his own team. This is why most Nigerians prefer Abokis as head in any organization since they know they don't know but are willing to give their ear and support to those who know to see to it that they succeed. BTW, how does Fascist Fash compare to GEJ? GEJ is light years ahead of Fashole! |

BishopMagic: Lets not derail the thread, but i think Buhari looks like a political threat to PDP's 15 year empire, as such they have mobilised mobs like you to scream supporter of APC everywhere to deface him PDP boasted some years back , they will rule for at least 60 years, now they have a party threatening their empire. |

emiye: You are obviously posting from somewhere in Osun. Buhari is by far the most hated politician in the north among Northern politicians and statesmen. No single one trusts him and they will not give him their backing. This is why he(Buhari) formed his own party, the CPC out of the regional ANPP. Only misguided and easily manipulated almajiris support him. |

emiye: The Plebs are both a scourge and blessing to any politician in a democracy. As long as the north remains ignorant, diseased, dirt poor and religiously conservative then expect them to still align themselves alongside primordial religious and ethnic lines. In my opinion Nigeria is not yet ripe for universal suffrage especially in the North and in backward myopic xenophobic states like Osun. |
