ayukdaboss: Our banks may pay for our ATM services but they steal much more secretly or openly. Every month FirstBank charges me about 160naira for SMS charges and some other things I don't even understand yet I don't get any messages at all from them.

My folks who use more services at the bank complain about secret minor deductions regularly etc. yet this man wants us to start paying for out atm services. These banks are clearly getting more gain from us than this 65 naira we're about to start paying them. So if I wan withdraw 1k for another bank I go pay 65naira??

Most likely what banks will do is to. Block their cards on other banks atm. What cbn should have done is to reduce the charge to 20 or 10 on atm withdrawals another banks atm machine .

This is just another cunning way of inflicting financial burden on the people again otherwise I don't see any reason why charges should be made on inter-bank use of ATM since all the banks are affected.

1) What happens to my savings with them wch they use 4 business with no interest to my acct buh only further monthly deductions
2) All man knows bulk sms shud b like 2Naira max, banks charges like 4 naira u won't even know how they come abt their total deductions. And pls, don't start calc d cummulative gain, only for sms ooh!
3) Now, the competition in providing better ATM services to customers shall decline, because U gonna come to ur issuer anyways, else pay N65. Well, na d 4th in a month. No P

Yes. But it's still not a good development considering the fact that ATMs are not in adequate supply in many locations. In fact in many cases, people travel to get atm (any atm) from which to make withdrawals.

It is not going to help the cashless transaction system being planned i tell you.

That is absolutely rubbish, how will this in anyway going to encourage the cashless policy they are trying to implement. I sorry for Nigeria.
