On May 7, 2015, a Nigerian, Chuka Umunna, could make history by becoming the first black Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Born in London in 1978, Chuka was bred in the UK. His late father, Bennett, hailed from Anambra State while his Irish mother, Patricia, is a solicitor.

Co-incidentally, Chuka shares startling similarities with the United States President, Barack Obama, who is the first black President of the world’s most powerful nation.

For instance, Chuka is of mixed race, being the child of a Nigerian father and an Irish mother while Obama is also of mixed race, being the offspring of a white American woman and a http://secret2020.com/nigerian-who-may-become-first-black-british-pm/

How come it is very easy for people of diverse and often foreign origin to rule first world countries while third world citizens make it impossible and very difficult for some people from the same country, colour, origin to rule them.

Its time to prove that UK is an advanced country in all ramifications.
They should ensure a leveling playing ground, and eschew racism.
Black or white,we are humans.
Ride on chuka.
This is FP material!

I laugh. It's a good thing for Nigeria though, but, should he ever win, don't expect any special treatment or favour cause to him, like any other capitalist, Obama inclusive, Black is just...well, black! smiley

third world countries are very conscious of tribe.

In Nigeria, it would be extremely difficult for fellow Nigerian from another tribe to win in Northern state Guber' election.

Chuka umana is going no where. The peak of his political life will be a cabinet position in a labour government but he can never be prime minister, no black will ever lead a european country's government. U.s blacks have a right be president because they are part and parcel of the u.s, their ancestors where brought to the u.s because of slavery which is no fault of their own and now their descendants knows only the u.s as home. Equal rights with blacks even in government is one of the prices they will pay for slavery. Countries like the u.k on the other hand never brought any slave to their homeland, most of the blacks there are immigrants, now they are trying to take over. I wonder if any white man can occupy any prominent govt position in africa, even in south africa where they are part and parcel of the country.

He would have made a great impact in Nigeria, but he will be sulked into the black hole irrationality in a blink of an eye if he dares go there to try and help the people at the moment..

In the meantime,he should just have his moments with oyinbo people and make the best of it. I would want to fvck with at that level myself and I don't advice any black person to.

Impossibility is nothing.

Chuka can make it.

The same pessimism was expressed before Obama miracle.

Igbo kwenu cheesy

But e for good if the article threw more light on his person, educational background, occupation, family life not just origin and similarities with Obama.

But its quite funny that no matter how minute one's black origin is (say 10%), they are still referred to as black alongside we the 101% black. In essense, a man with as much as 90% white origin but 10% black origin is not white but black.
This is disheartening, it makes the 100% white seem corruptible and delicate and the 100% black repulsive.

The 100% black should be called black and the >100% black brown or chocolate or something. angry

Even if it is difficult for say an ibo ruling lagos or the northern states like plateau, kaduna where they have a sizeable majority how about deliberate exclusions to the Nigerian presidency of certain tribes like ibo who have the mettle to contest for British prime ministership

Nigeria is a tribal state,it has not attained the status of a country yet, mentally and otherwise. That is why it is in a very backward state, ravaged by primitively minded tribesmen/women.

When the wind of renaissance blows, the tribes will either go their own ways or conform to rationality and this is just about the time. I can strongly feel it in the air.

Same thing they said about david lammy (though not Nigerian but Harvard educated and once compared to Britain's Obama)
Now chukka

It simply ain't happening

The demographics of the US made it possible since;
1) Only about 75% (appx) are white
2) There are large states with tons of electoral college votes where the whites aren't necessarily the overwhelming majority

Britain is very different. Whites are still around the 89% mark and only about 4% (As at 2010 election) of the total MP's are from ethnic minority background. The figure (ethnic minority) is around the 16% mark for the US congress

That's Nigeria for us. Unfortunately, no ibo politician since the last few years has fought hard enough against that exclusion from the seat of presidency.
