Ghana May Borrow To Pay Workers As 70% Of Revenue Spent On Wage Bill In 6 Months by Awalla: 7:43pm On Aug 24, 2014
The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning (MoFEP), Mr Seth Terkper, disclosed this when he took his turn to present the fiscal imbalances in the economy, partly caused by the rising wage bill, to labour unions, government agencies and other social groups at the just-ended two-day presidential stakeholders' forum.

The compensation payment covers salaries, allowances and other benefits.
Wages and salaries alone accounted for GH¢4.3 billion or 64.2 per cent of the tax revenue and 92 per cent of non-earmarked tax revenue of GH¢4.69 billion.

If the trend does not change, Ghana will be heading to the point where its revenue will not be enough to cover compensation, Wages and salaries and other benefit.

Enough of news from this poor country, it's time you guys stop spamming this forum with gaynian economic problems, they should kindly come, kneel down and ask for favour instead of this show of shame.

We can help, we have done it before and we do it again.

Nigeria the Power House of Africa we are willing to help them once they can swallow their pride and beg us to help or borrow them money
Latter they would come on nairaland and be comparing their tiny country with Nigeria the power house of African and be boasting of constant power supply even though we are the ones supplying them the light. Chickens comparing their selves with EAGLES. smh

Ghana's stories are always so disgusting. They should just sell the country to Nigeria if they don't have money to manage it.

So, with all the re-denomination of their Cedi and the triple A rating from world bank and the American govt. added to their claims of financial prudence, this is where all these accolades has brought them ?
Nigeria sure defies any textbook on accounting or economic principles as she has not filed for bankruptcy despite the humongus looting of her treasury by successive governments since independence with each in stiff competition to out-steal her predecessor.

We better pull out from this ECOWAS free travel shit before we are inundated by another wave of Ghanian influx like the one of the 80's which ended with the " Ghana must go" saga.

When you guys were beefing our brothers doing business in Ghana, we knew your economy will soon cry in anguish .

nigeria should just close all its land and air borders asap. All this parasitic behaviours are becoming unhealthy. Even that john mahama should be made to land to Cotonou and come into nigeria through seme border and make to undergo ebola and other screens like every other average foreigner.

You must be racist and for the invectives you spewed in your post, you just unmasked you schizophrenic identity worsened by ingestion of adulterated anti-psychotics.

For you information, Nigeria is growing at the same 7% rate but those are academic exercises which has little bearings on the reality on ground.

Nigeria also has the largest economy in Africa with the recent re-basing of our economy but we take little pride in these statistics because we are a practical people.

Keep deluding yourself in past glory until your economy crashes on your Pesewa savings.

Arrant nonsense! you talk like a fooooooooooooool! and you think your economy is doing any better? all it takes is for the price of crude to fall and we'll see you magg0ts running shelter-skeeter. just a drastic fall in the international price for crude and we'll see your generator-driven economy in free fall. even now it is not as if your economy is doing better than the Ghanaian economy. It is even worse when it comes to taking a look at socio-economuc indexes within the context of the United Nations Human Development Index.

In any case even with your so-called largest economy ………..
How come life expectancy in your sh1thole is a miserable 52 years, compared with 64 years for Ghana?

How come 90% of your long-suffering, boko haramed, crime-prone, depraved people survive on $2 a day, compared with 52% people in Ghana?

How come your country is rated 139th most corrupt, Ghana is 64th

How come 120 million nigerians don’t have access to electricity, and yet 70% of Ghanaians have electricity?

How come 143 out of 1000 children in nigeria die before their fifth birthday, while in Ghana 74 children out of 1000 suffer death before their 5th birthday?

How come the Dupont Food Security Index ranked nigeria 86 in terms of food security and the general wellbeing of its citizens, and Ghana was ranked 68?

How come your generator-driven economy grew at 6.9 percent in 2013, while that of Ghana expanded by 8 percent?

whatever challenges Ghana is going through are just short-term fiscal imbalances, ediot! Ghana is even lucky because its economy is more diversified than that of your dustbin country! all it takes is for oil prices to fall and your magg0t-infested sh1thole will be worse than Somalia! arrant nonsense!

What an impressive credentials for a country that is hugely indebted to Nigeria, Ofcourse you did not bother to reel out that fact.

A sensible person by now should know that those indices you so loquaciously enumerated do not translate to the realities on ground.

Keep living in your foooools paradise until Babylon comes crashing down on you.

TIME WILL SURELY TELL!!!!
