Chelsea shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois has
spoken about his working relationship with
Petr Cech .

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has
spoken fondly of fellow shot-stopper Petr Cech
in an interview with a Spanish radio station.
Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho had a big
decision to make after deciding to call-back
Courtois from his loan spell at Atletico
Madrid.
The Belgian international spent the last three
seasons in the Spanish capital, gaining
recognition from around Europe as one of the
best young players in the game.
Whilst at the Vicente Calderon, he won a
number of team titles including La Liga, the
Europa League and the Copa Del Rey as well
as beating Iker Casillas and Victor Valdes to
the Zamora trophy – an award given to
Spain’s best goalkeeper over the season.
His return to the Blues, however, was always
likely to cause controversy as he goes head-
to-head with the Stamford Bridge outfit’s
long-standing number one Petr Cech.

After receiving the nod during his side’s first
two Premier League games of the season,
Courtois was asked to comment on his
relationship with Petr Cech during an
interview with Spanish radio station Tiempo
De Juego.
He said: “We get along well, he works hard in
training like I do so the boss decides. Right
now, I’m playing and I try to be the best I can
but there is no problem between us we are
training very well.”
“He has been here for 10 years, he sometimes
gives me advice about things I don’t know yet
and we have a great relationship.”

Petr Cech has been linked with a move away
from the Blues after losing his number one
spot though Mourinho hopes to still have him
in West London on September 1.
The 32-year-old has made a total of 326
Premier League appearances for Chelsea,
winning the title three times.
