Biafra civil war of 1966-1970 remains the strongest indicator in the compass used by Northerners to navigate the political space of Nigeria till date.
This is the reason why the military after the death of Aguiyi Ironsi must be in the hands of the core north in order to keep the the south and their resources within their reach.
This is why nigeria is backward compare to its contemporaries like Malaysia, Singapore, SA, etc. Until the regions are brought back and resource control, fiscal federalism, land use act and state police are fully restored, there will never be any rapid meaningful development in the near future!
