An Australian in the safe haven of the West has declared that Ali Modu sheriff and Ihejerika are the sponsors of Boko Haram.

Nigerians, in our characteristic manner of believing anything emanating from the US and Europe has taken to FaceBook and Twitter to spread the malicious news without applying the rigors of deep thinking to come out with a dispassionate view of his reportage.

I must doff my hat to Ihejerika, who must be a great man of immense influence to have convinced the Northerners to destroy the North, kill their children, rape their wives and kidnap the Chibok Girls to feed their sexual orgies, whilst conveniently ignoring Ihejerika's homeland, even both in and out of the exalted seat of Chief of Army Staff(COAS).

This is the same Lt. Gen(rtd) Ihejerika that the Northern Elders had vowed to report to the International Criminal Court of Justice for Human Rights Abuses and Genocide because in their own words he was avenging the woes of the Civil War suffered by his Ibo people on the North and the Northerners.

Probably, Ihejerika was the person that goaded Alhaji Lawal Kaita into saying that the North would make Nigeria ungovernable for Jonathan if he was elected in 2011 or was it this same man that prompted Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to declare on National TV that those who make peaceful revolution impossible, will make violent change inevitable whilst quoting John F. Kennedy.

For the life of me, I can't but remember that it was this same Ihejerika that used this same sub optimal weapons and inadequate armor to fight Boko Haram to a stand still or did it happen in the 18th century?

Are Nigerians obtuse?, has the weather beaten our thinking faculty to the level of inability to juxtapose facts in order to put a stop to these distractions and detractors

The Emir of Twitter, Nasir el Rufai gleefully announced the breaking News on his FaceBook page but conveniently forgot, he and cohorts were the ones wailing on the pages of the Newspapers and on the Social Media that the Nigerian Army under the leadership of Ihejerika were killing their sons and daughters under the guise of fighting terrorism.

The Australian Negotiator, who to the gullible Nigerians is infallible and impeccably righteous, was quoted to have said that his life was spared in the camp of Boko Haram because he was an Australian, but he conveniently forgot that those crazy guys didn't spare him because of his nationality but because he is a veritable tool for misinformation, which is their main goal, and also which he has achieved with his tissues of lies.

I understand the fact that Ali Modu Sherif has been in the forefront of being accused as a Boko Haram Sponsor and has been mentioned as a public enemy number one of Boko Haram by Imam Shekau himself, but this Ihejerika angle is just a distraction to rile and distract us in the quest to starve off terrorism in our nation.

Anyway, whether we like it or not, from all indications, this War on Terror has assumed an International dimension and we must muster the political will power to fight it tooth and nail instead of the kid glove Jonathan and his motley bunch of Army Generals have being doing.

Jonathan has to shape up or ship out, there is no middle road in fighting terror, we have to realise that bit by bit we are being defined by these acts of brigandage and wanton killings, which may serve has our death knell of our continuous existence as a nation.

Jonathan should think of posterity and not the next election, he should act like a statesman and not like a politician. The time is counting...
