Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) speaks on the impact of power on the Lagos economy.

Ehingbeti is what is today called the Lagos Central Business District (CBD). It represents the building block of public-private partnership in development. Despite Lagos' economic importance (it is Nigeria's commercial nerve centre), its power needs is pegged at approximately 1000MW, a far cry from the estimated 10,251MW needs of its over 20 million population. Ehingbeti 2014 was convened to discuss the mega city's power needs, the impact of power on Lagos' economy and strategies and solutions to overcome the challenge.
