The 21 armoured brigades column was bombed mistakenly by the NAF,many soldiers died but seems no one is reporting the casualties.
Expectedly so, the NA is trying to cover up. The casualty figure is very very alarming

The report is true. Our government lost the initiative when they spent valuable time shifting blame and vacillating.
Now there's a boko haram territory in Nigeria, anyone who wants to bury his head in the sand can continue to do so.

Nigeria's militant Islamist group Boko Haram has seized the key north-eastern town of Bama after fierce fighting with government forces, residents say.

Thousands of civilians have fled the town, along with soldiers, they added.

The military has not yet officially commented on the claim that it has lost control of Bama, the second biggest town in Borno state.

Last month, Boko Haram said it had established an Islamic state in areas it controls in north-eastern Nigeria.

If confirmed, the capture of Bama would be an extremely significant development and would raise concerns that Boko Haram's next target will be Maiduguri, the state capital about 70km (45 miles) away, says BBC Hausa service editor Mansur Liman in the capital, Abuja.

It would be the biggest town under Boko Haram control.

Residents told BBC Hausa that Boko Haram captured Bama after heavy fighting on Sunday and Monday.

The military had initially repelled Boko Haram's assault, but the group returned with reinforcements to seize the town, the residents said.

The militants, who travelled in armoured trucks, first took control of the military barracks, they added.

Soldiers and residents fled on foot, many of them walking all the way to Maiduguri, residents told the BBC.

How is it confirmed? Becasue BBC reported it? The BBC is only reporting what they wish on Nigeria. You need to read through their report, you'd see how they are trying to cover their arses cos they are not even sure of the news. They are quoting 'residents of bama' as their source, they are not even in Bama. God is exposing the real enemies of Nigeria and I am happy.

Who are they supposed to quote if not residents of Bama? Something as significant as this is happening and the Nigerian government have not made any pronouncements on it, leaving citizens to speculate.

Do you know this guy - Ahmad Salkida ? He has got a lot of info about Boko Haram right from the days of Mohammed Yusuf its initial leader. There was a time he fled to the UAE on exile but i think president Jonathan called him back to help negotiate with Boko Haram after the Chibok Abduction.

And there is Shehu Sanni, he also has a lot of info about Boko Haram. The SSS and NA should work with this guys. Nigeria is in a state of war !

Hmmm...that means anybody can write any rubbish and quote residents of Bama. The battle of Bama is an intermittent war, it is off and on - that's what 'the residents of Bama' the BBC spoke to did not tell them. Boko Haram cannot claim to be in control.

Dude stop playing the ostrich. The same way you lot doubted the Chibok abduction. As we write now:

Gwoza is gone
Gamboru Ngala is gone
Boni Yadi is gone
Madagali is gone
Damboa is gone
Bama is gone

presently, there is a mass exodus of people fleeing Maiduguri. The sovereignty and territorial intergrity of Nigeria is under threat. Tell your useless president to do something fast

Ahmad Salkida witnessed the formative years of BH,they weren't as extremist as this when the NPF cracked down on them circa 2009 on the orders of Ali modu Sheriff. But let's not kid ourselves this is a whole new insurgent group just operating under the name of BH as you know they are basically 4 groups that make it up.
God forbid if they gain a foothold in the north east we might start to see the intentions of Al-Barnawi and Al-Ansoris groups.

I wanted to highlight the part it said boko haram came back with reinforcement and took the town.
One needs to understand and appreciate the implication of that action.
It appears boko haram had reserve troops and were so confident that they had to send fewer fighters and only had to bring in reinforcement when those couldn't take the town.
That gave an insight into the morale of boko haram and belief in their capability.
Same thing can't be said for the army. I really comment them though for initially repelling the insurgents. I was even pleasantly surprised. But I would have expected the army heir-achy to expect counter attack from boko haram having understood their modus operandi. Reinforcement of the troops if not actual pursue of the terrorist should have been planned instead of sitting back defensively and awaiting counter attack.

You are correct.
Harakatul-Muhajirin commanded by Khalid Al-Barnawi seems to be the fiercest . Abubakar Shekau's Jamaa'tu Ahlis-Sunnah is more like the public face of the whole group

I blame our Security forces for all these. Mohammed Yusuf was killed in 2009 and the group went underground; during this period alot of event happned viz: The Arab spring, Libyan Revolution, The Tuareg Rebellion in Mali etc.

The whole of SubSaharan africa and the Sahel was awashed with arms and ammunitions as a result of this conflicts. I am sure Boko Haram had contact with other Islamic terror network during this period. What was our security forces esp. The SSS doing then?
