ADAMAWA State acting governor, Honourable Ahmed Umaru Fintiri, on Wednesday, said only God could decide on whether or not he could contest the February 28, 2015 governorship election in the state.

Fintiri, on a courtesy visit to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman, Dr Adamu Mu’azu, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, told newsmen that his immediate pre-occupation at the moment was to prepare and win the October 11 governorship bye-election, which his party just nominated him as its standard-bearer.

This was coming barely 24 hours after the national secretary of the party, Professor Wale Oladipo, told newsmen that Fintiri would only complete the tenure of the impeached governor of the state, Rear Admiral Murtala Nyako (retd) and would not contest in the 2015.

But when asked by reporters on his eligibility in the 2015 governorship election, Fintiri said “God will determine my fate.”
