He means (Criminal Record) Records as the key word, NOT PDP/APC propaganda , since they don't have any records in place every politician who don't go by the rules of GEJ, tinubu and the rest will be deemed criminals.

barcanista: I don't know whether we don't have legal department in the Police Force or they are plain senile. The SC ruled in 2007 that the Police Force or any other Security Service have no Power under the Constitution and the Electoral Act to "Bar" anybody from running for Office. That powers solely lies on the Court and Inec which must be in accordance with the Electoral Act and the constitution. The best the NPF cand others can do is to partner with INEC during the screening process, with INEC taking the lead decision. Even at that, The Court can nullify INEC's decision if it violates the law.

If an acting I.G could be so ignorant to utter such statement, that should be enough for his appraisal, he should be dismissed immediately. The Supreme Court few years ago settled that. The Police have no power to disqualify any candidate from standing for election, such power is vested only in the Judiciary and the Electoral body. Where even the Electoral Body exercises such power, it could nullified by the Court of LAW.
