Well said. The inevitable confrontation would be the holy grail for black people and other people of colour. Hence we need to remain objective and neutral, but keep our eyes open at all times.

Missy89 is a good e-friend, and hopefully, she will come back on thread, and let's kiss and make-up. I just don't agree with a lot of things she posited because I see them as US propaganda, and rightly so. And if you're conversant with alternative sources, and opportuned to always read scholarships from European academics - you will understand America's folly in always trying to twist history to fit into this pseudo-exceptionalism.Thus painting blue as black and red as green. However, the decision makers in Pentagon and Washington know better. Hence they'll always threaten in the media, but end up looking for a back-door secret deal to save face.

Furthermore, I somewhat have interests in the rise of super powers in the far east, especially China and Russia. And as a black man, and an African - anything to tilt the balance in world politics and provide an alternative to the Anglo-American/Zionist domination is something we should all be praying for. Because for 3rd world countries to ever have a chance in making progress, there has to be a paradigm shift, a change in consciousness, and a new world order - in form of a bipolar or multipolar world, to free a lot of things. Too many countries have been stifled by Anglo-American domination, and no sane person would pray for the status quo to remain the same forever. A free and more balanced world is everyone's prayer.

China is definitely on the march to make that happen, and no amount of propaganda can stop the sleeping giant from taking over. Say what you want about its style and system of government, but that's what made China great today. And what has been able to keep it as one. It worked and is working for China, and it has been able to keep the country as one - despite the dark colonial past of Chinese holocaust, in which divisions made them lose over 200 million people.

The bolded is what I think every black person should be concerned about most especially Nigerians. I know for sure that the west and the east are not our friends - forget their pretenses. They are afraid of our potentials and might never want us to rise; so anything that will break their ranks and and conspiracy against Africa and engender true capitalist competition in global sphere is welcomed by me.

There is a difference between economic bilateral agreements and military/security alliance. Yes they are getting things done together, that doesn't mean an attack on Russia will trigger a military response from China.

Most countries even Russia and the united states have economic and security deals doesn't mean they are in any alliance.

The gas deal was more of a win for China who took advantage of Russia's political isolation to get the deal signed. Its is just a mere political victory for Putin and now he would have to cough out a lot of money to start building the infrastructure. On the long term thou, it is worth it because they are diversifying to Asia

Their interests are colliding in central Asia (A place Russia as always controlled for centuries). China needs energy and there is lots of it in Central Asia and china has been projecting soft power there by investing in the economies of those countries. Russia on the other hand, have military assets there and they have fueling frozen conflicts in other to have leverage with the central governments by playing mediator.

There are also concerns about Chinese border encroachment in the far east (Siberia Region) that has few population and a lot of resources(some of those areas used to be historically Chinese)
They are both in a cat and mouse friendship and Chinese economic power is scary to the Russians that is why they are trying so hard to form the Eurasian union so that they can control the old post soviet states and keep the Chinese out!

They have succeeded in making sure America have little influence there after kicking them out few months ago by demanding that they close the Tajikistan military base that was given to Bush when he invaded Afghanistan. it was where most of the troops were transported to Afghanistan.

Point of the story.
Russia is not only worried about the west. they are worried about the east as well and their economy is not strong enough to project power like it would love to (they still have friends thou). that's why they are aggressive lately (for good reason).


Don't be under any illusion that China will die for Russia. Russia can defend itself within its geographical space so they don't even need China to help them with the west. The problem is they cant afford to have both of them squeezing them at the same time. The plan as always been to divide the west which is working out fine by the way and have strong ties with China economically. The Hong Kong protest is playing well into Putin's hand at the moment because the Chinese might see it as an american plot.

If those kinds of protest persist, then maybe the Chinese will work with the Russians like the Putin would have loved but i doubt it thou, because unlike the Russians, the Chinese have enough leverage against the West.

Dear friends,

Today I sharing with you a document which I personally consider as absolutely crucial: an in-depth analysis of the China-Russia Strategic Alliance (RCSA) written by somebody who looks at it from the "Chinese side".   I want to tell you a few words about how this document came into existence.

I was talking with Larchmonter 445 about the development in Russia when I realized that a lot of his arguments centered around the relationship between China and Russia and when I probed him further I realized that he knew a lot about it.  Not only that, but he had come to the exact same conclusions about the RCSA as I had, but he came to the from the other, Chinese, side.  That's when I asked him to write a short analysis of this topics, and Larchmonter 445 agreed.  Except that is as a perfectionist workaholic and his short analysis ended up 25 pages long and with 39 footnotes!  As a result, what I can now share with you is a comprehensive survey of all the officially known components of the RCSA (you can bet that there are many more which I kept secret!).

I find Larchmonter 445's image of a double helix particularly appropriate because what we are witnessing here is the birth of a new geopolitical "life form" so to speak, an informal alliance of two countries which goes much deeper than most regular alliances do: what we are seeing is the mutual agreement to establish a full-spectrum geostrategic symbiosis between two civilizational realms as both Russia and China are what used to be called 'empires' in the past but which today are what I call "civilizational realms": multi-ethnic, multi-national and multi-religious ex-empires whose influence extends beyond their current national borders and whose international strategic "weight" makes far more akin to continents then to countries.

Make no mistake, what we are seeing is something unprecedented in history and it is much more than just an "alliance".  After all, an alliance can easily be broken and country A can decide to switch from an alliance with country B to an alliance with country C.  In the case of the RCSA what we are seeing is something much more akin to the birth of Siamese twins: in a geopolitical tectonic shift, Russia and China have decided to be shared not just "at the hip", but with many "vital organs and systems" including energy and defense, of course, but also their economies and long term development policies.  Each symbiont will keep its own head and brain, but they will share "torsos".

I would argue that this is by far the single most important political development since the end of WWII and probably the most important one in this century: it is hard to overstate the implications of what this means and Obama's famous "pivot" to Asia is completely dwarfed and, really, rendered utterly irrelevant by this new reality: typically, while the Obama roared and barked, Putin and Xi Jinping quietly, but profoundly, changed the planetary equilibrium.  I wonder if somebody will dare tell the White House.

Saker asked me if I could provide an article regarding China and Russia. I told him that I thought the entwining of the two was far deeper and meaningful than 'deals' for commodities and weapons. He added that the two militaries had gone through highly unique, for the two nations, training and had scheduled more for next year to push their integration capabilities.

I felt that what I had learned studying China for over a dozen years, the relationship was qualitatively unique in international history, far from just a special partnership category. There was a bonding in process. Double Helix was, to my mind, an ideal metaphor. Thus, the article became a large presentation. But the two nations are two of the largest and the bonding in process is comprehensive. To give it light, it took length and some depth.

One other note, I could have added another 20-30 footnotes, but it is another purpose of the philosophy of the Vineyard, as Saker has expressed, for the visitors, readers, commenters and participants do research of their own, contribute material and facts dug up and shared. In other words, one voice does not make anything authoritative and final. I agree. In the spirit of Orthodox practice, challenge whatever you find in error or doubt.

Why people hate America? This is a question some Americans usually answers by saying, 'people hate them because they are jealous of their prosperity and freedom'.

Yet there is a problem with this explanation. Why do people who have never conversed with an American espouse the same hatred? Why do Muslims burn American flags? The answer lies in America’s global history of intervention and interference. People such as Saddam Hussein and Colonel Gaddafi were undoubtedly responsible for some atrocious acts, and many believe that regime change was rightly forced upon those countries. However, the US government's history of foreign interference goes well beyond this century, and well beyond controversial characters. In fact, America has toppled many publicly-supported democratic governments around the world, and this has traditionally been instigated through the exploits of the CIA. After WW2 the CIA committed acts of assassination and torture, and replaced democracies with dictatorships in countries all over the world for more than 30 years. The justification was often that the Soviets had influence over the country, but in many cases there was little or no evidence to back up this claim. Regardless, it is little comfort to the millions who died, or the millions who lived without the freedom that America treasures so much within its own borders.
Countries that suffered at the hands of the US government include Afghanistan, Angola, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Congo, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Laos, Nicaragua, Panama, Uruguay and Vietnam; and these are only the countries for which substantial public information is available. To view the details of these crimes, please do extensive research on it.
An interesting inclusion is Iran. The Iranian revolution took place in 1979 to remove a dictator the US government had installed and supported for 25 years. This installation occurred after the CIA engineered the downfall of a democratic government in Iran. Before the revolution, the Iranian people suffered oppression, torture and death as a result of CIA interference in their country. In light of this historical evidence, one would expect Westerners to be a little more understanding of Iranian antagonism and mistrust, and yet, they continue to condemn them as irrational, intolerant and deceitful, hence, the 'brick wall' in the P5+1 Iranian Nuclear talks.
In summary, there are many reasons to dislike America. Unless the population understands the harm their leaders have inflicted on the world, the violent variety of dislike will continue. Unless the population understands that patriotism is not required to bolster their ego, the passive variety of dislike will continue. Foreigners are not blameless either. The actions of the US government are not the actions of its people, and we should do better not to generalise, especially as the government is eager to cover up its dark history. I as a person, does'nt hate the American people, the 99%ters, but i hate and loath the Occultic illuminati based multinationals own shadow goverment, the 1%ters that is controlling the US. Evrything the US government represents in the 21st Century, is a well doctored lie and pure hypocricy-cum terror. From the false Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, to Afghan, the Libya's colour Revolution and consequent bombings, the Syrian conflict, and now, Ukrain. Every well read and reseacrch oriented individual knows that the US foreign policy is formulated and determined by the Multinational Coporations-the front runners for the elites.

There's a even deeper game at play here. America is driving oil prices down for reasons the news won't report. It would seem that the Saudi's are playing along to retain their market sharr but one has to ask, why would they risk bottoming oil prices? What are they gaining from dropping oil prices. Increasing Israel's presence in that market? Weakining Africa's hold on its reserves to buy them? Why would they risk painting Russia into a corner like they are? Why are they helping China boost its holdings? Because America, Israel and China are in bed together. That's why. Israel is positioning itself as a world power and for that to happen. They must eliminate Russia & make deals with China & since they own America, they use its millitary might and media hold to control the rest of the world.

It's apparent that Russia does not want to be dragged into a full blown war in Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin: War with Ukraine would be 'apocalyptic' but unlikely

(CNN)—"A war with Ukraine would be "apocalyptic" but will probably never happen, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"I believe such (an) apocalyptic scenario is unlikely, and hope that it will never get to that point," he told Russian media Monday.
Putin said he's confident the crisis will stabilize if the Minsk Agreement is implemented.
The accord, between Russia, Ukraine, France and Germany, includes a ceasefire between Ukraine and pro-Russian separatistsand an agreement for both sides to pull back heavy weapons.
Despite frequentviolations of the ceasefire, Putin said there's no need for immediate action beyond the Minsk Agreement, such as more international peace talks or the formal recognition of rebel separatistgroups like the People's Republic of Donetsk and the People's Republic of Lugansk.
"I really hope (the Minsk Agreement) is implemented, and if it is -- it is the right way to normalization of situation in that Ukrainian region," Putin said.
But the chaos on the ground in eastern Ukraine suggeststhe truce is crumbling. In the past week, shelling has intensified in the city of Donetsk..."
