Motorists To Pay N50,000 Or More For Illegal Parking– FRSC by teeebugs: 6:57am On Sep 29, 2014
The assistant corps marshal of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in charge of RS1, Mr. Victor Nwokolo yesterday said that car owners who engage in indiscriminate parking of cars would be made to pay a fine of between N50,000 and N150,000 depending on how long such car is parked.

FRSC RS1 is in charge of Jigawa, Katsina, Kano and Kaduna states.

The zonal commander also vowed to clamp down on underage drivers, over speeding, overloading and driving under the influence of alcohol . He therefore warned that anyone found culpable henceforth may not have the option of fine but imprisonment.

ACM Nwokolo who stated this when he led officers of the zone to the state secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on a courtesy visit said, with availability of right equipment to work with, such as towing vehicles, speed reader and alcoholizer, there would be significant reduction in road crashes, saying “enough is enough”.

This 'law' is dead on arrival. Where in any of those states can anyone charge those figures for a traffic offence? Talk s cheap!

Besides, this 'law' remains his overzealous opinion until it is passed. Just looking for opportunity to swindle innocent Nigerians of their hard-earned money.

Again, talk is 3 for 5 Naira.

This is waht happene when you put persons in power who have no clue as to what the Laws that governs thier office stipulates
Questions
Where in the NIgerian constitution was it stated that Road traffic offence eg parking illegally ammounts to Criminality? cos to go to prison one must be found guilty of a criminal offence
How are they going to determin over speeding.
How are they going to determine if someone is drunk or over the drink drive limit when there is no standards as to how much one must consume in alcohol unit to be over the Unit
So this guy better go back to the drawing Board and propose a Bill to be passed into law by his Oga at the Top
