The popular Kara market in Ifo local government area of Ogun State was yesterday gutted by fire.

Goods and other valuables worth several millions of naira were consumed in the inferno that was still raging at press time.

The cause of the fire accident was yet to be determined but fire fighters were seen trying to put it out.

The popular Kara market houses thousands of traders from the Northern parts of the country who bring cows to Lagos for sale. It was not known if there were any casualties.
