Arise, O compatriots,
Nigeria's call obey
To serve our Fatherland
With love and strength and faith.
The labour of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain,
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.

O God of creation
Direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice shall reign.

I think it is necessary for us to start a revolution by adopting the second stanza of the national anthem.

The second stanza is what we need our schools to be singing in schools and government functions. This second stanza is rich and it has a lot of direction as regard the current happenings in the country.

Most of us dont even know the wordings of the First stanza. you hear people saying things like "Arise o compassion, Nigeria is called obey"

The first stanza is responsible for corruption. the second stanza is obliging God to guide our leaders. they need it. Our youths are confused and dont really know what the future holds. The second Stanza addressed it. The first stanza called the citizen zombies by saying "to serve our fathers land" it further says we should use our might. Our leaders should be serving right now and not us.
