The Defence Headquarters, Abuja, had on Friday. debunked claims by the Boko Haram sect that one of the pilot of the missing Airforce Alpha jet, Wing Commander Hedima Chimda, beheaded in the new video by the sect is an airforce officer.

But friends of the pilot on Saturday, took the social media and made clarifications that it was indeed the pilot that was killed. The friends who called themselves the Nigerian Army Support Group gave the name of the deceased pilot as Chimda Hedima, a 39-year-old Wing Commander with the Nigerian Air Force.

Apparently realising that it has been caught up in its game, the defence Headquarters on Saturday accepted that the pilot is an airforce officer and swore to avenge his death.

The Nation reports that DHQ in a reaction to the incident ordered massive air strikes on the Boko Haram sect, as well as take delivery of Cobra gunships soonest.

The DHQ assured Nigerians that aside it’s missing pilot, soldiers would continue to engage the terrorists and decisively put an end to their activities.

you are right. The DHQ don't really care about the welfare of the Nigeria soldiers. They don't even publish the names of the heroic soldiers killed by boko haram. No one knows how many soldiers have been killed so far. I doubt they even take care of the dead soldiers family. They keep on lying to themselves with their propaganda.

mumu, i know that's what you wanted to say, the AH cobra is just the name of a series of chopper that is being operated by the us army, and they have different upgraded versions, take for example Toyota camry has a 2006 version and also a 2015 version, the version used to prosecute the war in Vietnam are not in the production line again. Nobody is buying them anymore.
But sometimes the way you guys analyse things as if there are not competent and trained officials in the defence hq that are overseeing such procurement

it smirks off ignorance on the side of anybody that said military procurements should be done according to the trends of time, no you don't buy choppers because they are new and are the one reigning, " the AH cobra saw success in the Vietnamese war" and the terrain there is similar to that of sambisa so thats why we need them, inorder of us to replicate the Vietnam war success story here in Nigeria. You dont say because American soldiers wear gas mask to fight lets buy gas mask for our soldiers no, you only but what you need, either old or new.
