NIAMEY REGIONAL SECURITY AGREEMENT GOOD FOR NIGERIA

Despite intent or target no terrorist act is ever location-specific. Acts of terrorism spread out because the essence of terrorism is to cause mass terror. Terrorism in the 21st Century is never less than regional. Boko Haram threatens Nigeria and regional neighbors. Boko Haram operates against and hides in neighboring nations. So, confronting, combating and ultimately, containing terrorism requires collaboration. President Jonathan’s emphasis on regional security collaboration is demonstrably effective. Support Nigeria. Support our Troops.

No nation can defeat terrorism in the 21st Century alone. Even United States relies on strategic partnerships and military allies around the world for assets, intelligence-gathering and interdiction of terrorists.

NIAMEY AGREEMENT (Cross-Border Security Agreement signed on October 7, 2014, by Nigeria, Chad, Niger, Cameroon and Benin Republic in the city of Niamey, Niger Republic is a strategic security step in the right direction.
