On 15 March, the Nigerian Immigration Service organised the ill fated recruitment examination/screening, which resulted in a stampede, that led to the loss of several lives, and injuries sustained by many people at various centres nationwide.

For the first time since that blue weekend 7 months ago, a group of Nigerians under the aegis of ‘Rule of Law-Nigeria Collective’, have filed a lawsuit against the Federal Government of Nigeria over its actions and inactions in the happenings of the stampede.

The case will be sat on at the Federal High Court, Abuja, before His Lordship Abdul Kafarati J. sitting in Court No. 2. under the Suit No ‘FHC/ABJ/CS/694/2014′ between Patience Nonye Omezie & Ors V Federal Republic of Nigeria & Ors, Minister of Internal Affairs, Abba Moro.

According to court documents, “The suit is a challenge by Nigerian citizens, in particular, Patience Nonye Omezie, Kasim Yusuf Suleiman, Okojie Theophilus Arebamen and Godwin Morka over the deaths in various Stadia in Nigeria during the Nigerian Immigration Service recruitment exercise held on March 15, 2014.”

The lead counsels for the plaintiffs are Mrs. Funke Adekoya SAN, J.S. Okutepa SAN, Ayo Obe, Ikeazor Akaraiwe, and Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri.

Who are those at the helm of the Nigerian Immigration service, it would appear that they are not Igbos, seeing as Nigerians and the Nigerian press seem less concerned about their mishap that led to loss of human lives.
Uzoma and Oduah got better media coverage ,public outcry and condemnation for lesser deeds.
That many Nigerians dont even know the names of those behind the immigration mess, says alot.

A country united by the blood of Ndiigbo and anti Igbo sentiments between 1967-70, would always require the same,to stay united, shame!

Mr. Man what is wrong with you? Must you 'tribalize' everything? Youths died there man, Igbos and non-igbos alike; be properly guided.
@Topic, atleast some folks have some balls to question the government, hope they will pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.
This is exactly what I want to see in Nigeria of my dream

We are exactly saying the same thing. Uzoma was made infamous for conducting a recruitment exercise by the Nigerian media and Nigerians, she was relieved of her job, why are some people whose actions led to loss of human beings allowed to walk scot free, with Nigerians and their media not asking for their resignation?

Answer this question and stop trying to sell the detribalised ish, it's a spoilt article, and nobody is buying it. There is nothing like a detribalized Nigeria, we all owe our allegiance to our various groups.
